Think he is talking about a new conference with those schools. Need 8 ACC to leave. The SEC already has the Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Florida Markets. Gotta add that West Virginia market if the SEC hopes to be successful in football.

It's not about media markets anymore, it's about content. If ESPN, and I'm not saying they will, but if they moved certain schools from the ACC to the SEC then they'd own the bulk of "Rivalry Week" under one banner. What I think is more likely is that they'll work to create my synergy between the two conferences and strengthen the ACC. Otherwise they're really taking money from one pocket and putting it in the other. But.. don't think it's about media markets anymore. Why would Duke be included. They're tiny compared to unc. Have you not understood the era we are in or are you basketball brained?I was not sure. Why would UNC want in on this? Why would Duke not be included?

I'm being like this because I keep seeing the same wrong ideas pop up.No need to be an a hole. In 2023 Duke was as high as No. 16 in the AP Rankings. While they did not enter T25 this year, I believe they ended up 30th in the rankings. Considering the rivalry with UNC, I would be surprised if they were not included in a pulled out of someone’s a z z scenario. They would be in a better position FB wise than us or did you miss the 20-teens and our lack of success?
My point was they aren't going to the b10, sec, or b12.So @Patman , if you were starting a new league with the leftovers of the ACC, you wouldn't add Duke?

, 2024 KAB Award Winner for On Air Personality, Storm Chasing Enthusiast. UConn to the Big 12 Apologist
The ACC pays out more and ESPN signed on to the extension of their back loaded agreement, which will widen the gap between them and the BigXII throughout the course of the agreement. Don't be so shocked if it's the ACC poaching BigXII schools, and yes, I do think UConn will end up a part of things as well in some capacity.Guy taking about ESPN burying and disrespecting teams in the Big12...hmmm, where have we seen that play out before? As my son would say, "bruh". Maybe if they had an East Coast team or pod that got them NY eyes, they wouldn't have to complain. Oh the irony.
you know somebody was crying about the NHL forsaking ESPN around 2004 and I'm like "that espn would have been glad to make hockey the 8th most popular sport in the US". Of course ESPN would do that.Guy taking about ESPN burying and disrespecting teams in the Big12...hmmm, where have we seen that play out before? As my son would say, "bruh". Weird timing for Jay Williams to say that.
