I don’t like the orange either. Other NY FBS teams (Buffalo, Army) are not starters. But in terms of marketing it represents a potential strong rivalry in the northeast. This is where I felt BC was so stupid to block us out of the ACC.

It's over. People need to let this old timey s*it go. It looks sad chasing after these schools like some jilted ex. There is simply no way to recreate that magic ever. Everyone is in a very different place than they were 20 years ago.

I’m beginning to sense three out of four adds have been decided: UConn, Colorado, and Arizona. I feel those are all very solid adds. I think we’re not hearing much because they are trying to one more.

It’s the 4th I can’t get comfortable with. Now this guy added Oregon St. Doesn’t get me excited.

I’m thinking UNLV could be good. Who in California sounds good? San Diego St? Not sure. Who else in California are “getable”? Others are tied up (for now), like ACC. Too bad, Syracuse would make a great partner for us.

Cal would be a huge get. Otherwise, ASU or SDSU for #16 (or #17 and #18). Then turn east in due course to get to 20-24 teams.

No “old timey” romance from me. College athletics (particularly football) is an entertainment business. And leaving the largest media market in the country is not good business.

They don't have divisions because of the current number of schools. I think they'll go back to divisions, if they go to 16 the pod angle is plausible

I'm pretty sure the ACC has recently discussed eliminating divisions and having the top two football teams play in the conference title game, I could see that becoming the preferred method when the playoffs expand and these title games become very meaningful. It's very difficult to evenly balance divisions quality wise.

A few e-mails from my friends (we won't call them "sources", as that apparently triggers the weak minded) overnight and if Yormark and the #Big12 doesn't get all #Pac12 Four Corners schools, the next option is #UConn in ALL sports. The Huskies desperately need the income!!

Some #Big12 fans saying no to #UConn because their football team has been so bad. Just consider it like the #SEC, when you get the Huskies on your schedule late in the season...you know, and "off week" game, only it's a conference win!!

I'm pretty sure the ACC has recently discussed having the top two football teams play in the conference title game, I could see that becoming the preferred method when the playoffs expand and these title game become very meaningful. It's very difficult to evenly balance divisions quality wise.

No doubt some are heading that way. The BIG is changing up the way they do it too. I was simply speaking to the reason why the Big 12 didn't have divisions. With 10 teams they were able to do a round robin and divisions became pointless

UConn should be pumping it’s facilities. Yeah, the stadium is off campus, but it’s a great stadium that can get up to 50K easily. Also, for a northeast program without storied success on the fb field, is there better tailgating?

Not that it's a relevant consideration, NFW Cal nor Stanford would want to be associated with Houston, UCF, Baylor, and BYU. However, Cal, Stanford and any prospective PAC 12 remainders (post UCLA and Southern Cal departure) may be forced to hold their noses to accept a Cal State school, SDSU, for some southern California conference exposure.

This is correct. People that don't like in CA don't understand this. There is now way in hell Cal and Stanford would want to be associated with schools like Houston, UCF, Baylor and BYU. Same could hold true for Washington and Oregon as well. If PAC-12 is in the East Coast, UCONN should join this group but their behavior is way too similar to the old Big East.

If we get an invite with Colorado and Arizona the conference is only going to want PAC 12 teams like Utah or Arizona State. Oregon and Washington (are unlikely) and have one foot out the door and won’t sign a GOR if deal as low as they say it will be.

Those teams you listed have no brand value and no real consistent/long term historical basketball pedigree. I can’t se them being offered any time soon.

We are really lucky to be in the current position we are with no affiliation for football. If we stayed in AAC we be locked in until 2031-32. Yikes!

I doubt many on this board realize how much it must be burning Cal to face the prospect of schools like SDSU (mentioned often), Fresno St (only occasional speculation) or any other CSU school joining the conference. UC schools (Cal Berkeley being the highest rated and most selective) view the distance of then to CSU schools similarly to how Yale would view the distance between them and Housatonic Community College.

They could add St. Joseph's of West Hartford and as long as UConn is included in the group I'm all in.

I'm agnostic to where they do it. I would like to see it done.

Houston's new stadium is 40k and is a nice facility. UCF is 44k and is pretty much a dump.

Get the upgrades for wifi, fiber optics and media done this year along with some of the structural repairs and do an expansion to 45k in 2024.

When UCF was building its stadium, the description used sounded like a kid experimenting with tinker toys. Have heard the when at full capacity, the venue sways back & forth due to visitors activity & weight.

completely agree state funding will lag demand which is why I said unless someone is willing to stroke the check to pay for it up front, it's a several year down the road event.
