ha. What's the exit fee for ND from its "no conference but the ACC through 2025" contract?

Officially, $52 million plus a GOR regarding its sports other than football and hockey.

Second tweet says the Irish are holding confidential info over Swofford and release will be 24 million and two ACC teams per year on ND football schedule

Nothing arrogant about pointing out the truth. It is unlikely NCSU would make to much of a issue since their Chancellor & most of their Board of Trustees are selected by a Governing Body that was created by UNC in the first place
Maybe, but they didn't take no attendance, no course work, no nothing courses UNC requires for graduation either. Just saying! ;).

Irony?

There are zero indications that the ACC Network is moving forward. None. You have no insiders and are generally one of the most uninformed people we've had to endure here. You're a lightweight shill.

Sure he's a clueless troll too, but who among the legions of acc posers is Ren to bt's Stimpy?

I truly doubt that such a move would be good for us, if only because every move is bad for us even if we can't fathom how it would be at the time, and I would be surprised if ND divorced the ACC and affiliated for football so soon after moving to the ACC, but I think nonetheless it would make me smile.

If ND finds a scheme that allows them to make more money with the MAC or MVC or WAC, they would affiliate there. With ND, its all about FB independence and the associated non-shareable revenue it generates and maxing the revenue as a leech on some other conference for the other sports. If somehow they are forced to join a conference for FB, I would not leave the AAC as an option off the table because adding ND would make the P5 into the P6 real fast and the AAC schools would be foolish not to give ND everything it wanted for 10+ years to make it happen. The ACC most likely would not give them everything and the B1G sure as hell would not.

The conventional wisdom among some of the BY faithful ,is we would join the remnants of the ACC with our old Big East foes.. The problem with that is the P5 would be the P4 and we would still be on the outside. I guess the fact that Cuse,Pitt, and BC would also be on the outs somehow makes that palatable.
Every change has a negatative potential. Boy are we aware of that. The best change is the one with the fewest or at least ones that can be managed.
These destruct solutions should give us little comfort, the negatives outweigh the positives.
The best solution at this time would be our acceptance into the current status quo ,with as little disruption as possible.

Looks like ND might be involved in a non-alignment related rumor today. Looks academic related - rumors range from suspension of a few back-ups to a complete UNC level academic scandal.

From MGoBlog forum:

Supposedly, 3 very big names, 1 backup

again, rumor, but "Hearing Moore, Ishaq, Daniels, and Russell... FWIW"

And more:

Also read, fwiw, it maybe related to academic advisor shenanigans. That would be a big PR problem.

Either Uconn's newest reporter is reading the yard or this rumor has legs.
@ErikaWachter: Yikes. Big rumors circulating about a serious academic cheating scandal at #NotreDame Football. Suspensions and win vacancies possible.

I've just been told that the University of Notre Dame's Football future, playing as an Independent, is quickly coming to a end.......

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h
No other details except Notre Dame will not be playing Football as an independence in the no so distant future. Does that mean in 2...

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h
...years?. I don't know... I asked follow up questions on why the change for Notre Dame and received no answer. I asked the destination....

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h
no answer -FWIW. My personal thoughts on this is that Notre Dame will fold into ACC...but I was shutout with no answer when I asked "ACC"?

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h
This info is 180 degrees from what Swarbrick has said recently about the Irish's future as an Independent. But my source is Mr. Real...so

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 2h
Other than what I just tweeted I have no other info at this time only speculation on how ND folds into ACC (If ACC)..and I don't know motive

Greg Flugaur @flugempire · 56m
"Notre Dame entering time of much needed transition in acedemics and athletics". This is what Im being told with "quickly" being the word.

ME: I don't know if this has any legs but the ACC would be the conference they go into IF they end independence. Fingers crossed that UConn gets the #16 spot. I'm rooting for you guys.

Do you see any connection between the allegations and the new rumors you've heard?

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 56m
@Transic_nyc Yes I do see a connection....but only based off of my own speculaion. I was not told a motive for the Irish leaving Indpendence

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire 54m
@Transic_nyc. ....I tweeted a couple hours ago that I was told Irish Indepence is quickly coming to an end...but was not told of motive.....

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 51m
@Transic_nyc. ...but if this Yahoo report is true then I can see changes for Irish as they try to stay relevent in the new world of playoffs

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 50m
@Transic_nyc I wish I was told more....I will continue to ask. But Irish Independence is ending...according to what I was told before.......

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 48m
@Transic_nyc. ....this story broke on Yahoo. Logically speaking there is a connection....but Im not sure
