I do buy the premise that Gee's comments were taken out of context. That was a rather abrupt about face regarding the possibility of expansion. As far as B1G expansion, it would be interesting if the went to 20 and kept the core 10 ogether for rivalry reasons and then put the 2nd 10 into the other division, played seperate schedules with no FB crossover and had the division winners meet in the CCG.

Also, if Gee's comments are accurate, why haven't ESPN, CBS etc. etc. been all over this story?

Based in the initial reports of what the B1G will net with the 1st half of its TV contact, the XII, even if it expands, likely can't come close to matching that deal. In turn, almost guaranteed that Oklahoma and Texas are walking. Thus, no need to expand the XII as its dead.

At these numbers, why wouldn't everyone want to join the B1G?

At $500 mn per year for 25 fb and 50 bb games, it's basically $7 mn per football game and $1.5 mn per basketball game. For a school with 6 home FB games and 13 home basketball games, that's $60 mn.

The $20 mn the ACC and B12 get per school is suddenly looking closer to the AAC than the B1G.
