Fox Sports pushing Big 12 Expansion, with very favorable numbers. IMG involved, as is CBS Sports. ESPN laying back for now, but will be involved.

We have a great relationship with IMG. CBS Sports loves us (though I'm not a fan of them.)

Navy adds a solid Lax program, too. Any thought about the ACC adding Navy in Football and lacrosse (say Patriot for their other sports) in combination with Georgetown for basketball and their Olympic sports. Could help the ACC counter the loss of Maryland in the DC market along with the B1G now associating with Johns Hopkins in lax. Of course, that would make sense, something the ACC is lacking.

Georgetown brings a very good lacrosse program as well. Adding both of those would mean an uneven number, so maybe UConn should go back to D1 to even things up.

Cincy and Ucf/usf to b12
UConn and Houston to acc

ACC locks down New York. Also gets a foothold in Texas. Houston to the acc makes as much sense as UConn to the b12. Cincy and one of the Florida schools gets them two new markets for their network.

Uh oh, that crazy hillbilly is actually carrying our water?

Its amazing. I don't think I've ever seen a scenario where a single person argues every side of an issue. A few months ago there was zero chance The Big 12 would expand. No one outside of Notre Dame carried enough value, and UCONN was a total non starter. Now everybody and their brother could make that * show money, and The Huskies are more valuable than The NY Yankees. I hope you guys get the call up, but Jesus I cringe at the idea of you being subjected to this lunacy for real.

I'm hoping that while the Big12 takes months to figure this all out, the ACC or B1G makes a move on UConn. I know it's unrealistic with no partner. But does the ACC want UConn to go to the Big12 when the ACC is trying to start their own network? Does the B1G want the Big12 to plant a flag in NYC? Just hoping that something else gets stirred up.

Doesn't the ACC have a hurdle to clear in order to start their own network since raycom owns the TV rights?

Is the Big 12 aware USF isn't good at anything?

It's the Big 12 getting into a big football state, an SEC state...and a large southeastern market....or so Jostar intimates with the thought that Texas schools want Florida in order to compete with the SEC. Also might make an eastern wing of FSU, Clemson, Miami, USF, etc an easier push.

That was by MH V3 by the way.

As per usual, doesn't make any sense. Why would they do that?

Bowlsby: No comment on Boren's $4-6m per school boost from a #Big12 network; no discussion of folding LHN into a league-wide deal.

Now for the nut punch:
If FOX is able to get at least 50% of B1G Tier 1 TV media contract the incentive for FOX to play ball on B12N drops

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 2h2 hours ago
B12 has to play ball with Boren...but they have to wait for B1G Tier 1 TV negotiations to play out first..and hope FOX don't land B1G Tier 1

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 2h2 hours ago
This is why since April we have stated B12 expansion was never about 2016...always about FB 2017.
Always.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 2h2 hours ago
Oklahoma is not in control over their own destiny on WHEN (not if) they can leave the B12...but B12 is not control their destiny on B12N.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 2h2 hours ago
But B12 has to swing the bat to possibly hit the ball on creating an operational B12N with expansion.

Look it's simple. No network, no expansion, no Big 12 after 2025. Sure none of the candidates are perfect but what's the alternative?

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 3h3 hours ago
So if you want the Big 12 intact get behind the idea of expansion.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 3h3 hours ago
Or at least hope like the ever-lovin' dickens Texas agrees.

It's not complex. It's simple: the LHN is a massive and likely immovable road block.

Christopher Lambert ‏@theDudeofWV · 3h3 hours ago
@frankthetank111 Not really. More B1G bias. Converting LHN into B12N is very easy if Texas agrees. Fox & ESPN would be partners.

Doug ‏@NebGradDubDub · 2h2 hours ago
@theDudeofWV @frankthetank111 all conference networks are built on shared equal revenue. Can't be done in the B12. Won't be done

‏@theDudeofWV @NebGradDubDub @frankthetank111 Yes it can.

ESPN is not going to be able to afford the next B10 contract-Numbers being thrown around by other networks dwarf what ESPN can pay

ESPN also knows it is going to lose schools from ACC to B10-big deal schools on the Bball side

Getting Cincy in the B12 helps keep an Ohio presence for ESPN college football.

ESPN needs to protect what it has with ACC and B12 but does not want a merger if ACC loses schools to B10-can't afford to pay(cont)

(Cont) competitive shares to 20 schools in a mega conf.

MH3 ‏@MH3 · 2h2 hours ago
ESPN will let B12 and SEC get the big programs left in ACC(UM FSU Clemson VT) and refill the ACC remnants with AAC teams and pay them less

MH3 ‏@MH3 · 2h2 hours ago
ESPN also said LHN can be transitioned to B12N-it's willing to do what the conference and UT wants

MH3 ‏@MH3 · 2h2 hours ago
ESPN wants Uconn in B12 for TV market purposes for the LHN/B12N. Simple as that. Also gives B12 another blueblood in BB

ACC GOR is going to be a non-issue since ACCN was not created. It can be beaten in court now.

MH3 ‏@MH3 · 2h2 hours ago
@agentmdo Uconn has NYC and the state of Connecticut. It alone almost doubles the B12 market penetration.
