You're telling me with a straight face bowls mean as much as they used to?
When did they mean more? 30 years ago?

I have. I also see the NFL season going longer and don't see a legitimate reason you couldn't extend the college season a little longer. The networks would love it, and let's stop pretending these are anything but paid athletes at this point. Cut some meaningless bowls, add a few more relevant games.... It can be done if you stop clinging to an outdated model.
With a statement like that, no wonder people think you guys don't take football seriously. Yeesh.Nobody wants CFB to be more like the NFL.
They absolutely need to re-think when the national title game is played. Between NFL playoffs all weekend, MLK day and the Presidential Inauguration, the CFP title had virtually zero hype leading up to the game yesterdayin my opinion...this CFP went way to long. Yesterday, I barely even knew about the national championship game especially since everyone was focused on the divisional round result and now conference championship matches.
I prefer 4 team playoff by far.
We probably don't take it as seriously as your team. What team was that again? With a statement like that, no wonder people think you guys don't take football seriously. Yeesh.
Definition of a cartelin my opinion...this CFP went way to long. Yesterday, I barely even knew about the national championship game especially since everyone was focused on the divisional round result and now conference championship matches.

I was kinda surprised they didn't go for Thursday. The nfl has turned Thursday into a football day, may as well use it. Nobody casually goes to the bar on a Monday. They absolutely need to re-think when the national title game is played. People want a less convoluted post season. Win and you're in. Lose and you're out. That's what people want, that's what my model grants. Eliminate committees and decision makers altogether. Win and you're in, lose and you're out. It's not rocket science, what I'm proposing. You can look across social media and every public forum and see that sentiment. You’re out of touch.
99% of fans want to preserve thr sanctity of the regular season.
In reading between the lines of everyone pushing for expansion after a single year of the 12 team playoff, I've come to the conclusion that they don't care how many teams are in the tournament so long as Alabama is included...for reasons.People want a less convoluted post season. Win and you're in. Lose and you're out. That's what people want, that's what my model grants. Eliminate committees and decision makers altogether. Win and you're in, lose and you're out. This doesn’t matter to the cartel. You think they give a about the fans?People want a less convoluted post season. Win and you're in. Lose and you're out. Well, I guess if you don't understand football. You understand how it works in basketball, right? Yeah. Same concept.Adding playoffs to the playoffs makes it more convoluted.
Agree to agreein my opinion...this CFP went way to long. Yesterday, I barely even knew about the national championship game especially since everyone was focused on the divisional round result and now conference championship matches.

Unlikely. It has to be something more embarrassing than that.Watch him be like a UVA fan or something

It doesn't matter if you or I think a bowl means anything. If it's East Toenail St University vs Girls of Pride Tech in the Hawk Tuah Bowl sponsored by the Pillsbury Dough Boy and those players coaches and fans are into it, so be it. People trying to eliminate something they have nothing to do with is lame to put it mildly. You're telling me with a straight face bowls mean as much as they used to?
So with zero hype it was the most watched event outside the NFL over the past year. Imagine what it could be if it was goosed a little with those events. To bad the Presidential Inauguration isn't yearly to add to the fun. That would be a riot. They absolutely need to re-think when the national title game is played. So there isn't a panel of decision makers in basketball? Win and you're in lose and you're out. It's easy guys.Well, I guess if you don't understand football. You understand how it works in basketball, right? Yeah. Same concept.
Maybe "meaningless" is a bit harsh, but those games don't carry the same weight they once did in the era of playoffs and transfer portals. The extra practice time meant something before players could just leave on a whim.It doesn't matter if you or I think a bowl means anything. If it's East Toenail St University vs Girls of Pride Tech in the Hawk Tuah Bowl sponsored by the Pillsbury Dough Boy and those players coaches and fans are into it, so be it. P.S. for the record I'd watch that game. Love me some ETSU
