Non-Key Tweets

A lot of nothing but still being talked about by Ross Dellenger with 2027 as target date for resuming talks.
I was going to say this forum is dead and then you go and do this you son of a . . .

seriously, they can't bring up Big 12 every freaking summer without there being some trace of a flint spark

I don’t know if this in “inevitable” but I hope it happens. I have no doubt that conversations have bee continuing behind the scenes. If you remember the Rutgers move, those discussions went on for at least 3-4 years with many people labeling it wishful thinking by the Rutties until it happened. I sort of think this is something similar. Talks have been going on quietly behind the scenes. One day we will wake up to an announcement that yes, UConn is a member of the B12. There is also a need to keep things relatively quiet to prevent the NBE fan boyz from doing everything they can to undermine the move. I mean why would you want to play Kansas and Iowa State and Houston when you could have Seton Hall, DePaul and Butler??

If UConn ever gets into big12 id be surprised if it would be for even a fractional revenue share. Heck they might even make us produce our own games just for the privilege of having BIG12 stamped on the field.

I See You GIF by HBO Max

Looking at you Chris Murphy.

Ross Dellenger never said that UConn to the Big 12 was inevitable. He barely discussed UConn to the Big 12.

Mark Zanetto is the one who brought up realignment and UConn. Zanetto said (16:52):

"Um, but as far as like realignment and media rights,
there's it's it's an interesting one because, you know, if UConn is still considering a move to a P4 like the ACC or the Big 12, are they now more kind of waiting on media rights timelines to kind of dissipate or end?"

This is piss-poor for Zanetto to say that. If UConn is still considering a move to a P4 like the ACC or the Big 12? Give me a break. If UConn is still considering a move? This implies that 1) a move is in UConn's control and 2) they possibly aren't considering a move. Ridiculous. Neither is true.

As far as what Ross Dellenger said, he said that 1) a breakaway of basketball and football was inevitable and 2) never say never to expansion happening (not specifically UConn) before the media contracts are up.

In the context of this being a UConn podcast, and Zanetto asking about UConn and conference realignment, Dellenger’s answer essentially boiled down to there will be movement, conference realignment is inevitable, and it’s a matter of when, not if.

He didn’t mention specifics or UConn to Big 12 or ACC, but very much implicit that with all the TV contracts expiring around the same time (2030ish) that we may see talk of movement in 2027.

Playing my way back album by one of my favorite groups...It sort of hit me....like some, I have grown weary of the streams of realignment gossip without significant action. But, it is what we have.

Like a bird without a nest
A stranger in the night
My soul calls out for rest
And the end is not in sight

This must be more CR craziness. Fairfield CT played in the Metro Region instead of in Bristol, CT with the New England Region. I'm not even sure what is happening here but I was never a fan of trick plays in little league. Or whatever this was.

Not a trick play. The kid on first is trying to get caught in a run down so the kid on third can score a run while the defense's attention is on the pickle. South Dakota just had no idea what was going on, so it just kept giving Fairfield free bases.
