I came here looking for a Christmas gift. Instead I got this!
Merry Christmas To the Yard!!
Merry Christmas To the Yard!!
Well, the ACC knows that we won yesterday. I'm not sure what the Big12 follows or what it would take for Yormark to try again with the Presidents. Maybe winning a bowl game was part of the Big 12's runway plan for UConn football.Wouldn't it be something if both the B12 and ACC fight to get UConn as a member?
ESPN is not UConn’s friend. But it’s also looking like ESPN is no friend to the ACC anymore with reports that they can pull the plug on the contract in 2 years. Who knows, maybe ESPN wants to turn the ACC into something resembling the Old Big East if/when FSU, Clemson, UNC leave.ESPN is not UConn's friend by any stretch of the imagination. They have done everything they could to destroy UConn. Don't listen to the chatter. Trust no one. They will likely say that UConn beat a depleted NC team, so it doesn't really count.
But they probably won't, absent a profound change of membership. The ACC could be considering adding UConn too.
Does SMU/Cal/Stanford have a vote already? If so I wonder if they would be pro-UConn. Can’t imagine Calford wants to travel east more than they already do, although that’s pretty much every game for them any way. SMU is probably 50/50 on UConn. But they probably won't, absent a profound change of membership.
How do you come to that conclusion?. SMU is probably 50/50 on UConn.
I actually think they would be 75/25 against because they probably don’t value what UConn brings in football, is another northeast trip, and smug alumni. How do you come to that conclusion?
Sorry, I don't know, but I would expect that they would have a vote.I actually think they would be 75/25 against because they probably don’t value what UConn brings in football, is another northeast trip, and smug alumni.
Still never answered my question if you know the answer lol
UConn would definitely add viewers to the weak ACC channel. Lots of private equity types and corporate sponsors want UConn in ACC to get connections to metro New York CitySorry, I don't know, but I would expect that they would have a vote.
I don't know how you qualify a university's position toward UConn absent, any public statements. I'm not saying that you're wrong. I just want to understand what you're basing it on which you explained a little bit above. For the most part, I would think the motivation is whether the addition of Connecticut would bring an immediate increase in revenue to the conference members.
It’s just a gut feeling. I have nothing definitive on that end. I think our academics would be viewed positively. Just playing the hypothetical game. If the 3 new members are pro-UConn does that get us enough votes. Not entirely sure.Sorry, I don't know, but I would expect that they would have a vote.
