Is that an invite? lolYou must be fun at parties
You have an open invitation to my poker game. I know a hopeless mark when I see one.Is that an invite? lol
Bethlehem, PA version 2.0. Maybe they can transform the campus into some kind of casino/low-end retail. The interesting thing about Syracuse being down ... and swirling round the bowl ... is that it is the ENTIRE city and Central NY region. A pall over an entire area code. As an upstate NY kid, it is city with great chamber of commerce stickyness; but, frankly, a laggard based on pure commercial activity. You don't say that about Rochester, Buffalo or Capital Region. That school/that Program is important for the esprit d' corp of the region. The business community and the urban/suburban life. And while you might hint that it is "Upstate NY" team or "NYC" team; it's not. It's hold on Albany or Buffalo is far more potent when it is a top 10 then not. Like it was raging in 2004 when their Regional was at the Knickerbocker in Albany. But people don't travel to the Carrier if they suck - Greg Robinson era - and they won't if the Boeheim transition takes 5 years.
Can they instantly move from this Jim Boeheim moment to a better construct within 5? Sure if they are lucky. We are a good model or we can cite 5 others. It ain't easy.
I see this as a descent that we all saw coming; and one that they allowed JB concessions that were damaging. Including the sons. And yes Jim Calhoun was given one big concession too.
No, I get it, there’s really nothing to root for for Syracuse right now, so you’re here on a UConn basketball board talking about finances instead of athletics. I understand completely. Don’t get me wrong, it’s really, really odd, but it’s entertaining. I’m curious to see how long you’ll keep digging this hole. It’s a pretty sad look. You know how to copy and paste, right? Like I said...facts matter. Saying one school left to secure a financial future and that another school is 40 million, in the hole in just athletics are FACTS.But, you're nit worried about their future. What? lol Not bragging. It's a fact. You think a school that's been around since the 1870s is going to just poof, but they make a move to ensure that doesn't happen and that's why (one of many rotating excuses) the basketball team is bad. Now..that is sad logic. And Syracuse isn't terrible at Basketball. They are terrible right now. lol I'm okay with that. You aren't? lmao
Down goes Lowercase, Down goes Lowercase. And The Yakk comes out of nowhere throwing haymakers...
Sounds awful, but if an entire region was dependent on SU in order to thrive commercially...that's their stupidity. It's a good thing they get paid whether people show up or not. lol.The interesting thing about Syracuse being down ... and swirling round the bowl ... is that it is the ENTIRE city and Central NY region. You know placing quotations around some words...doesn't make them my words. Do you need help with copy and pasting? Now it's entertaining, but two posts ago...you felt sorry for me. Mood swings? lolNo, I get it, there’s really nothing to root for for Syracuse right now, so you’re here on a UConn basketball board talking about finances instead of athletics. “But, but, but… our athletic department makes more than yours does!“
Like Reeses, your compulsion to post here is is two things in one. It’s laughable, because it is just so very weird and yet it’s really sad that someone’s life would be so miserable that they would spend the time to make so many posts on another teams basketball form about their athletic departments profitability. Let’s just say it’s entertainingly pathetic. You know placing quotations around some words...doesn't make them my words. Do you need help with copy and pasting? oh...so now there's a post and time restriction. lol I thought that when I left the correctional facility I was free to do as I pleased with my time. Thanks for saving me from a parole violation. Congratulation on your program's financial success. It seems to really be working out for your gritty and plucky little program. Boeheim(s) forever!!!!!!
Lol, what the heck are you talking about? Really, it’s getting to the point that I kind of feel like someone should do a welfare check on you.oh...so now there's a post and time restriction. lol I thought that when I left the correctional facility I was free to do as I pleased with my time. That would be 4>1* since the bulk of that season was forfeited due to the Syracuse decade long triple scandal of drug use, pay for play, and academic fraud. There will always be an asterisk next to that natty.Congrats on your Acc banner and many helms thropies lol.
Must suck to know it will be 4>1 for a while.
That sounds absolutely terrifying. Last I heard...SU wasn't the only overpriced institution which is why all these students want their loans erased. lol What's the matter with urban kids? Do you mean people like myself that grew up in New Haven? I could care less who went where and why and where they came from. In any case, sounds like a plan. Make it happen and the best of luck to you. And btw...I've never been to Disney World and as others will attest to on here...I'm probably not a hit at a party. lmaoLet me opine a contra-intuitive theory: it ain't about SU as an institution any more. That University is just an overpriced ticket for mostly urban kids from greater this or that - NYC or Westchester or LI or Jersey or DC. Not the highest achievers; not the best & the brightest. Just a way station that was a fun place to party for 4 to 6 years. Colgate in Hamilton or Cornell in Ithaca actually have better minds and harder, more rigorous academics.
The region is really getting engulphed by ONE Indian tribe - the Senaca Nation. That place had grown immensely and makes money in all different economies. With innovative resort features in development today. More interesting that DisneyWorld I would say. Since the Carrier Dome is functionally obsolescent, maybe you just sell the whole kit & kaboddle to Roy the CEO. He'd replace Jim B without sentimentality. Improve your Lacrosse. Build a huge new modern arena for football and hoop to match Vegas. Give you dollars for a new Hockey East franchise which no other donor would fund. And drag those entitled kids away from the urban wretches you NYC alumni fear.
New York State is doing what they should have done in mid 1970s. Make Buffalo and Stony Brook Flagship State U. And then SU finds out what a Public Institution with bonding capacity can do to take your bacon away.
Excellent points. But you forgot to add Binghamton in paragraphs 1 & 3.Let me opine a contra-intuitive theory: it ain't about SU as an institution any more. AAC below the Mountain West, lolWith this weekend's performance, the ACC's KenPom rating dropped below the Pac 12. Actually, the Pac is sinking, but the ACC is sinking faster.
