Oh, he was most definitely pushed. Had to be.Why would UConn do that if he is leaving on his own accord?

This is the Land of Steady Habits. UConn ain't going in that direction.Yes but honestly UConn isn’t going to get this caliber of talented people in football without hiring guys that have warts… its how Iona or St Johns winds up with Rick Pitino, Liberty with Hugh Freeze, etc. Time to embrace it.
I will not pretend to know what he’s doing in AZ now but the thought when he was in Lincoln is that a lot of the drinking was driven by the passing of his father, stresses of bringing NU “back”, and being close to a bunch of his old college and HS friends.I mean if the boozing stories are true and he's still doing it then idk how useful he'd be. It's one thing to hire someone sleazy. It's another thing if it's an active problem
Who covers UConn football? There is no one dedicated to the sport year round in any primary media source. They all got other jobs. I would say there really aren't any beat writers out there, there are people who cover the games, write features in season. But out of season? If it isn't a media invite event, we aren't going to get anything.CT insider and the Courant both have articles that are just staff reporters. Where are their beat writers? Even Brown's blogs are picking this up. There's definitely enough smoke.
Who? Jim probably has to call the reporters to get news out. LOL. We are dealing with this in corp media as well. Lack of news places, it is hard to get your story out. So, the answer is brand journalism and owned media. So we can’t get one mainstream reporter to get a comment of any kind from the staff? Tell us something.
This is your fault John. Start covering sports again. /sWho covers UConn football? There is no one dedicated to the sport year round in any primary media source. They all got other jobs. But as far as beat reporter stuff, such as recruiting/inside baseball stuff/notes. There is no one.
I really don't care who...just a story with an actual quote from the UConn admin on the situation. It could be any of the pseudo hobby media folk as well, many of them are pretty good. All I want from the quote is a acknowledgement of the Thamel news and an update on the timeline for the replacement. Practice starts next week....Who? I disagree. I think there are so few resources and reporters left, they only do things that can rate. The little things, like this, don't produce enough clicks, revenue, sales. How do you take them off things that do?Our media is pathetic and lazy. No other way to spin it.
Well you know Lincoln’s first Vice President served in the Maine National Guard as a cook while he was Vice President. He was assigned to Fort McClary at Kittery Point. So VPs have held outside jobs. UConn OC and Vice President. As long as no minor foreign heads of state die during the season we’d be fine.
Just to add to the "Where there's smoke" environment ", I was speaking to a former Husky player last week. He said that Dan O. Is getting tired of his tv gig & wants to get into coaching. Dan HAS helped out with spring practice in the past, so who knows...
$$ Article:
Marques Tuiasosopo - Rice OC/QB. Worked under Mora at UCLAdoes anyone have access to share who might be a candidate?
This is so true. Especially Congress. Stuff gets done if you have to get there by a horse and buggy and dont wan to return. Air travel has made it a commuter job.Perfectly fine with him doing both jobs.
Honestly, if all national offices were part-time jobs, we might all be better off for it.
Thank you - my vote is Bill LazorMarques Tuiasosopo - Rice OC/QB. Worked under Mora at UCLA
Noel Mazzone - Pittsburgh Maulers (USFL) OC/QB. 20+ years as a P5 OC. Worked under Mora at UCLA. Was at UConn in 2021.
Adrian Klemm - Former Patriots OL. Worked under Mora at UCLA. No OC experience.
Bill Lazor - Houston Texans Offensive Asst. Been an OC in college and NFL. Worked with Mora in Seattle.
Gordon Sammis - O-Line/Run Game at UConn.
I like everybody EXCEPT the OL coach... Please no... Not again....Marques Tuiasosopo - Rice OC/QB. Worked under Mora at UCLA

More than that, it also seems like a relationship issue. These guys don't have sources that let them say things.

Media is in such peril these days, it's over. You are going to see more stuff like me, UConnblog, that new Storrs Central. Places that have a passion for the niche and will produce content. Won't be as good as the old media, since mostly unpaid, but it will fill the gap.
My suggestion for UConn is to hire a ream reporter. That way you can report news like this.

Kind of a stupid post. UConn is incredibly lucky to have Mora as its coachLate + bad timing to replace OC. Need to be consistent to be successful. Did we just go through this a couple of years ago with DC out at the start of the season ? Maybe JM is the problem + and is not the guy behind closed doors we think he is. Can it be he is has a problem dealing with people ? Just a thought.
Wait so I shouldn't come to the Boneyard for legit Husky news???I don’t read the paid media guys. Their articles offer little and they never get scoops.
The bloggers do a better job and write better articles.
Lucky is a strong word. Have a lot of faith in Mora but whiffing on both his initial coordinator picks and the regression last season are not good looksKind of a stupid post. UConn is incredibly lucky to have Mora as its coach
If he's moving up to the NFL, he must be pretty good.
We filled the DC position.Or Saban or Belichek. (And yes I realize they're both defensive coaches. But that's not the point. They're available).
