Nick Charlton headed to Cleveland Browns > Offensive Assistant/Run-Game Specialist

I wouldn't be shocked if Sammis becomes the OC and we look for an OL coach.
I don't love that idea but let's do it and hit up Jason Kelce to see if he's willing to start a career in coaching and coach with a former NFL coach! I think he'd be a heck of an OL coach.

Uhhhh the guy who ended up starting the majority of the season? If you thought Fagano was the answer then you might want to re-evaluate how you watch the sport.
The guy who started most of the yr wasn’t the right choice either.

I wouldn’t mind seeing if Mora can kick the tires on the Idaho OC whiles he’s out west.

Being that Charlton almost certainly took a pay cut, my guess is Mora told him to look around for something and if that's the case presumably he has his preferred replacement already in mind.

His timing is as bad as his play calling.

My pie in the sky dream for the program is that we hire a competent offensive coordinator and that throwing the ball the way ten dozen other programs somehow manage to do as a matter of course becomes attainable in Storrs. I am prepared to be disappointed.

Here are where Charlton's offenses ranked:

Total Offense: 106 in '23, 124 in '22
Passing Offense: 104 in '23, 127 in '22
Rushing Offense: 90 in '23, 33 in '22
Scoring Offense: 121 in '23, 117 in '22
3rd Down Conversion: 103 in '23, 88 in '22
Red Zone TD %: 102 in '23, 87 in '22
Long Scrimmage Plays 10+ yards: 107 in '23, 115 in '22

I was willing to give him a pass in 2022 due to injuries, but there really wasn't any improvement in 2023. I thought the only reason he wasn't fired was due to his buyout at ~$900k as he had 2 years left on his contract so I was willing to give him another year. Sure, the timing isn't great, but I think we can find an up and coming OC to replace him.

Twitter follows remains a solid way to generate leads/ideas for candidates. Right now looking around Mora and some of the top guys on the staff for clues and there looks to be nothing notable.

Maybe UConn nation will finally get that Twitter powered fan based play calling tool we always wanted. Nothing but go deep and never run.

Whoever the OC is, he better hope Qb1, RBs 1-2, and WRs 1-3 can stay healthy or not quit after first 3-4 games.

While throwing out names keep in mind the OC will also need to be QB coach. Having a track record as the latter is of greater importance at the moment.

He screws us with his lame passing schemes, and now he screws us by leaving before spring ball instead of at least season's end when we could've picked up someone else..imma really not fond of Nicky boy.

Congrats to Nick. I’m not going to poop on him right now.

We should look into coaches from FCS like South Dakota State, North Dakota State or Montana. I watched them play against North Dakota (school I’m attending) and they put up points
