Are you crazy! You are acting like KenPom doesn't take into account margin of victory. We can't let the spreadsheets and nerds win!

Need to play the starters until the final gun.

Yes the leagues are different , but that's what Tom Thibodeau has done with the teams he's coached, driving his players to injuries, causing late season burnout, and running his starters into the ground.

I never heard anything about the margin of victory being a factor for the KenPom, but even so, it's a case of weighing the advantages of trying out new schemes vs. the risk of injury to starters when their presence is not needed for a game outcome no longer in doubt.

I disagree. It's also early in the season and the team needs reps together against other competition, especially with all the new guys and reincorporating the two returning guys, even in a blowout. Hurley also needs to see different lineups together.

It's also vastly different from Thibodeau. Dudes under Thibs were getting crazy minutes per game.

Sanogo has averaged under 24 with a spread of 19-27.

Newton averaged 26 with a spread of 20-36 (of note his 36 was his triple double, so probably would have gotten fewer if he wasn't close to that.)

Karaban is at 28 with a spread of 22-33

Alleyne is at 31 with a spread of 24-38 (down under 30 since Hawks return)

Hawk was at 24 and 28 minutes in two games he played (take out his injury game)

Jackson and Clingan both at about 15 per game.

Diarra and Calcaterra both at 22ish.

Only player who is averaging over 30 minutes a game is Alleyne. Karaban's would also probably be lower if Johnson were healthy, or Jackson available the first three games.
