Looks like the women's uni has red trim instead of flag blue. I'll wait to see it before i judge, but I think I'd prefer flag blue trim, cuz tradition matters.
"Sweatbacks" is right! The current uniforms are nasty....on television it definitely looks like the players have sweated through the backs of their shirts.I read somewhere else that Nike will be furnishing several select teams with new uniforms but there was some uncertainty as to whether they were referring to men's teams or women's. And now this related bit of news.
Apparently the style uniforms UConn players (women) have been wearing in recent years are called "sweatbacks," in reference to the pattern woven into the fabric on the backs of the uniforms. As I recall, the first version had six or seven stars in the design to represent national championships.
I haven't gotten close enough to a player to actually see the pattern. I wish that ESPN or (more likely) CPTV would have a camera do a close-up sometime so viewers like me could see the pattern clearly.
Back to you, Harriet.
Let's start with the Fat Demon himself, Dr. Faust, who got his PhD at Duke:

Utterly tacky. Looks like something cooked up by whoever did the costumes for Barbarella.
Re. Barbarella, for those to young to recall....You say that like it's a bad thing.
)Aren't those the colors of Ohio State?Looks like the women's uni has red trim instead of flag blue. I'll wait to see it before i judge, but I think I'd prefer flag blue trim, cuz tradition matters.
Aren't those the colors of Ohio State?
Right you are! Another reason, a very big reason, to prefer the flag blue trim!!Aren't those the colors of Ohio State?
Yes.Aren't those the colors of Ohio State?
really Nike, how hard is it to make a nice looking uniform?
Be careful... the players might think they're really hot.
OMG - that picture Nan posted reminded me of the troopers uniforms on the Death Star in the Empire Strikes Back. They. Are. Butt. UGLY! Could someone arrange a good Karma transplant, please?
For decades, the Uconn colors were blue and white. In recent years a variety of colors were tried and mixed. Could $$ be involed with the companies who manufacture these uniforms?
It could be the same old story: anything new, is better.
Better than having Sylvia Hatchell design 'em - or, Louie Carnesecca.I think they should let Kim Mulkey design the uniforms.
Yes, first thing I thought of. Hope this does not become a one and done uniform also.
So, it was the uniforms that made it possible for Duke to advance the ball up the floor as quickly as they did without a UConn player as much as waving at hand at them allowing Duke to get that great, uncontested look at the three as time expired?
Not exactly. The uniform actually prevented UConn from waving a hand at them. The uniforms didn't help Duke (how could they.....that's nuts), but they hurt UConn. It was UConn wearing the uniforms, not Duke. To think a uniform worn by one team could affect the other team......that's crazy talk. So, it was the uniforms that made it possible for Duke to advance the ball up the floor as quickly as they did without a UConn player as much as waving at hand at them allowing Duke to get that great, uncontested look at the three as time expired?
Hilarious movie.
