Two days before the opener? Really?!? Why is everything harder for us?
? First day of school was yesterday...
No standing in truck beds? I'm confused as to how standing in a truck bed correlates to alcohol consumption.
As others have said, canned beer is plenty capable of getting you messed up.

I understand a lot of these rules, but not the no standing on truck beds, that is fully bore nanny state nonsense. Next up, minimum number of chews before you are permitted to swallow.
Oh I said on twitter this is 100% litigation management and nothing more. It just a shame because this country is really becoming an absolute tedious nanny state bore. I have been doing some international travel lately and it’s interesting and really refreshing to see other 1st world nations still believe in personal responsibility. I’d long those countries and short us. We are spending an inordinate amount of resources in this country (ie waste) on belt and suspenders non sense and paper to insulate from a casino style legal system. It’s a big drag on the economy and it’s making us dumber. The world we live in... Sacred Heart University Sued Over Pancake Eating Contest Death
>>“These contests are significantly more dangerous than people realize and it’s critically important for the public — especially educational institutions — to understand that certain foods are safer than others and a modicum of forethought can literally save lives.”The lawsuit suggests ice cream and whipped cream are safer for amateur competitive eating contests because they melt before they can block a person’s airway.<<
How much you wanna bet that some wonderchild was crapfaced and took a backward brodie out of the truck bed and ended up taking an ambulance ride that shocked mommy and daddy and someone got a nasty letter about the school's responsibility?

Also student here, begging for a social scene. Tailgates are one of the last things we have other than Teds with new guidelines popping up every few months.
That lot was an absolute $h1+ Show. It’s a miracle no one died. Are spiked seltzers considered hard alcohol? They’re like 5% but the policy says “beer and wine only.” However, ain’t no laws when you’re drinking claws.
Also, students can get a parking pass to anywhere else just like the rest of us. These rules are restricted to the specific student lot.

Which is exactly our societal problem. And we are pretty much the only place in the world where this is practiced and considered logical. There is a massive cost to this nonsense.People bitch, until someone dies and the school gets sued for $100M.
The ghost of Suzie Lax

My issue is less the policy and more the tone. Why so hostile?

I think the thing that annoys me most about this policy is it’s yet another indicator that school views the students as an obstacle to be overcome when putting on a sporting event, rather than the center of attention.
Just another example, such as the building of the Rent and the continued insistence on playing games at the XL Center, that the state and the school simply don’t understand college sports.
Our athletic department is modeled on minor league pro-sports and that is really disgusting and sad.
Because they hate the students, apparently
Let me remind you; "Students are not the lifeblood of a university- tuition is!" said by someone-somewhere for sure.Because they hate the students, apparently
