What good is 5-8m per year if we going 3-9 every season because the travel has zapped our recruiting? The next 5 years for UConn football is about wins above anything. Must change the narrative with winning. Must be winning!

Also, no point joining the P12 when we are on the doorstep of the B12. If the B12 plans go bust by 2030, then its a whole new situation.

Sure, if I accept your premise that they can’t compete in the best G5 but I don’t. And if you support an all sports invite to the B12, it doesn’t make a very convincing to B12 presidents to argue at the same time that we’ll be competitive there because the long trips there are only 2000 to 2500 miles, even it’s for virtually every sports team (including FB) - not just 4 or 5 FB games.

I’m not expecting us to go 3-9 under Mora, but I guess that could happen. Why can’t we go 7-5? If we cannot do that in the reconstituted PAC12 why would the B12 ever invite us?

Agree with Exit 4 for different reasons. We are in the process of establishing an identity. That identity involves having a winning FB program that is Independent. A few years of 10-2 or 9-3 with a decent bowl win and our new identity is solidified. Does it lead to the golden ticket? Who knows? It certainly has more cache than what we were the decade from 2014-2023.

It’s dangerous. That’s a tough football league and we would be recruiting kids to play in a conference clear across the country. We might struggle in that conference as a fish out of water. However, the schedule is appealing to me.

If UConn moved to a new all sports conference, UConn would have a high exit fee:

Years 1 through 6 = $30 million
Years 7 to 10 = $15 million
After year 10 = $10 million

So, after this upcoming basketball season, the exit fee drops in half to $15 million.

No one has ever theorized that we would leave the Big East in all sports for the P12.

I have no idea what that wording means. I assumed they were trying to say that had the current 8 PAC 12 schools played together as a conference for the past 4 years, these would have been the PAC 12 results. Maybe it's a west coast thing.

Inconveniently, the new Pac-n’s CBS/CBSSN football contract may push UConn CBSSN broadcasts to Fri evening or Sat 12 noon kickoffs. IMHO, that’s less desirable than Sat 3:30 pm or Sat evening kickoffs.
