It has been their pattern to allow teams back. Miami might be too good a team to allow back in.

darn... going to overtime. Come on Canes... we need this one

Miami was up 4 with 35 seconds left... now its going into double overtime

.-.
Rutgers could very well be the 3rd best team in the Big East ahead of Louisville.

If they are not better than Louisville right now, they will be by January. This game helps. The Tennessee game will help.

Good win for the Canes. Rutgers shouldnt drop a single spot in the Coach's poll in my opinion.

29 Rutgers fouls to only 15 Miami fouls. Good effort by us. I actually thought it might have been ugly given this was our first big road test.

Sounds like both teams showed a lot of fight. A game like should help both teams.

How is Laney playing so far this season? I really wanted her to come to Duke... think it was down to us and yall.

Laney made a huge mistake late in the second half committing the foul with 38 seconds left. However, she did make the shot that sent the game into overtime.

She's been the best freshman for us so far. She got her first double double on Friday against Florida. She's been very impressive. So happy she chose RU.

Where else was she going?

Agree with Color. Through 8 games (not including Miami), Laney has averaged 8ppg, 4.5rpg, 45% FG, 20mpg, and perhaps most impressively, has been trusted to head up the patented 55 press. She's had a few freshman clunkers, but she is going to be very, very good.

Second best freshman is Canty, though she has struggled a bit of late. Such a versatile player though--an excellent rebounder for her size. Averaging 4.3ppg and 4.3 rpg, 2.1apg, 43% fg,

Her top four was Rutgers, Oklahoma, Duke, & UK.

I apologize. The question was asked somewhat rhetorically. There was never any doubt in my mind as to where she would end up.

Mine either, although I did get somewhat scared by those reports that she had dropped Rutgers right before she committed.

I was convinced she was coming down to Tobacco Road...... but anyway.... is she playing the 3 or 4 ?? or swinging between both positions?

Seems like she's switching around both. But I believe she's mainly playing the four.

Delaware has a legit shot at entering the NCAA Tournament undefeated. I wonder how high they will climb/get seeded?

They will likely play Maryland later this month at Maryland. No way they will beat the Terps.

Old Dominion was a #5 seed in 2008, VCU and Drexel were #10 and #12 respectively in 2009, James Madison earned a #9 seed in 2010, and was a #11 last year. If Delaware ends the season as a ranked team, they will be seeded no worse than #7. Should the Blue Hens enter as a #5 seed with a favorable matchup against a #4 seed, they could find themselves in the Sweet 16 against a #1 seed; Could very well be UConn.

Rutgers vs Tenn at the RAC in Piscataway. The game is on ESPN 12/13 at 7:00.

Thanks for the info - that is the week UConn has off for exams - so it is great to have a good fill in game.

ODU is not a good comparison since they typically play some very good teams, so it would be easier to gauge how good they are. Green Bay is a better example.

Why do you say that?

I was really impressed with Green Bay when I saw them in the regional last year. That coach is impressive, they were very disciplined and knew how to play. They were just overmatched by Baylor athletically, but I would love to see UConn play teams like them and Marist. I wonder if their coach will be courted by bigger programs...
