ND vs Tennessee...or, is it possible for both teams to lose?

How is ND playing poorly? They are 52% from the floor, 43% behind the arc and 83% at the line. Holding opponent to 39 pts(13 a quarter) for three quarters. What game are you folks watching?
ND usually runs a crisp, clean offense by controlling the tempo and getting high percentage shots. That the shooting percentage is good in the first half means that the ND kids are too smart to take dumb shots but, boy, the first half offense looked nothing like the impreesive machine we're used to seeing.

I don't think Texas is really afraid of UCONN...

Yeah, they did such a spiffy job against the Huskies in the tournament last year. I am sure they will draw confidence from that one and quiet their fears. Ahem.

Lady Vol fans will not stand for this. Trust me.

They're playing the way they play, the way they've been playing.
the game is no different from all the others.
I can't understand (aside from the National TV)
Why this game should be signaled out for special attention.

.-.
What can they do, LV9? Holly is under contract until 2019 and Hart apparently loves her work.

ND not playing bad - much better in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Also having fun watching them break the
Tenn press. Tenn is leaving too many players to press which leaves on offensive player wide open. ND took advantage of that a few times.

Tennessee's problem is the same old. They simply have no offense. Cooper and Deshields are too selfish and they have no idea how to run offense. What has Holly been teaching them for the past 2-3 years???

But I quoted your post because I disagree - this is great! Seeing Tennessee get their asses kicked is a great game any day of the week, and twice on Sunday!

Is UT pressing? It looks more like they are just slow to get back.

AT 3;56 left in the game, Tennessee has their first player in double digits. DD makes a jumper.

From all the positive things that I have heard about DeShields, she is not that good. Perhaps, she is not coached that good.
Problem is, her stats at Tenn are very similar to her stats at North Carolina - so, is it coaching, or is this really who Diamond is? I'm in the "it's who she is" camp - an over-touted, flashy-looking, volume shooter, who is careless with the basketball, and somewhat disinterested in playing a high-level of team-first basketball.

Tenn looks horrible. Holly may be part of the problem, but from what im watching, the players dont mesh well yet and they are individually overated. I cant put my finger on whats wrong. The players look limited skill wise. Russell,Cooper and Deshields are good so maybe they need time.

Tennessee's lack of a point guard is GLARING.. Cooper is just not good enough yet. Reynolds and Carter are NOT point guards in any way.

Not only that, their lack of offense, chemistry, and team play is also glaring. Defensively they play great for about 10-15 minutes each game. So much fun watching them self destruct....

The Tennessee rally will give false hope to Margo and some of their supporters.
It's a false hope.
The team has impossibly simplistic schemes; or none at all.
They can play as hard as they can...and they did especially in the second part of the 4th quarter, but it simply doesn't matter.
And when they let up, they can easily lose to unranked teams.
What a horrible situation.
They're derided on National TV all night.
Surely the Admin will begin to take note.

ND had the opportunity to put UT away and couldn't. Not a good sign if you're a ND fan.

UT is not that good. Inconsistant offense at best - a lot of run down and chuck it up. Defense - they look disinterested much of the time. I don't care if you have 7 MacDonald's AA's. It mean nothing on the college level.

I covered some junior college games with opponents who offered that same, disinterested attitude and the body language that confirmed it. They knew they weren't going to win and they weren't about to get too excited about it. This LV edition isn't even an average basketball team.

And for those who follow recruiting: How much more proof do you need that the prep "star" system is really a shot in the dark? UT put a fist full of McDonald's AA's on the floor tonight.

The game was functionally over. They have a bad habit of letting up in that scenario. It was still never close to being close.
Just like ND's game against UCONN. ND's defense is not really all that good.

What good is Mercedes Russell if they're not going to give her the ball. They showed she was 3 for 5. Five shots and they were well into the third quarter.

Blew my prediction, though. I hope you're resting easier.

Agree, many of the 4th Quarter points were scored against Notre Dame's bench. Kind of reminded me a few years ago when Geno took out his starters and all of a sudden a 30+ point lead end up to less then 20. :) Notre Dame took their foot off the gas. Westbeld impressed me the most of the Notre Dame players. I thought the rest of them played their usual game. Box SCore: http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/boxscore?gameId=400842375
