I don’t get why so many people say “who cares about vacating wins”? as if it doesn’t leave a giant stain on a program.
Sure, the games happened, but everytime Louisville fans try to claim they have 3 national titles, we can now laugh in their face.
Doesn't matter except for the history books.Hey, who won the 2013 National Championship... Louisville did. This doesn't matter.

If they got strippers and prostitutes for non-athletes, they would have been cleared like UNC. This is what I take away from all this. So, let me get this straight. Louisville gets slammed (rightfully so) for strippers and prostitutes for players and recruits and UNC got NOTHING for admitting to fake classes that numerous basketball players took in order to stay eligible?
It did happen. They won the title and then it got stripped. Ergo, they did not win the title. That doesn't mean it didn't happen.

May take:
1) The NCAA, which is one of the most corrupt, vile and tone deaf organizations, are the ones handing down the ruling.
2) The fact that there's a good chance every major college program has done, or continues to do, the same things that got Louisville in trouble.
The games were played, the results happened and anyone who's a fan of the sport knows damn well who won.
I’m with you. If you want to really penalize them ban them from the tourney for 3-4 years.I am sorry if I sound naive but what does vacating wins do? I mean, the games happened, you can't take that away. I guess I don't get the punishment. Is there any real impact besides taking down a banner in the arena?
I believe losses remain and wins don’t count so 2013 will go in the books as 0-5 rather than 35-5.And do the wins get removed from the opponents' loss columns? And, for that matter, do the Louisville losses get removed from opponents' win columns if the seasons are vacated, or are all games recorded as forfeits in the opponents' favor?
No future sanctions? Hardly, a deterrent. Reminds of the Olympic Athletes from Russia team but not Team Russia.
