This team got what it deserved in this seeding. They did not earn any better or any worse. They will be lucky to get to the round of 32. I wish them the best. GO HUSKIES!

We beat Marquette twice and finished ahead of them in the conference. Pretty easy to argue that one. They're a seven

If you were to dissect the resume of every tournament team they way you hate on "your" team, you'd find a lot of holes in a lot of resumes

Pragmatism > simpleton conclusions (which includes metrics)

No and no.

It's worked out that we've worn white in all 6 of our NC games.

well then, maybe we'll wear them again this year, since the seeding doesn't matter :)

I think we got seeded pretty fairly - you can argue we should have been a 7 but other than that, as an 8 we got pretty lucky. Oklahoma is quite beatable. Good start but 6-12 in the overrated SEC?? And they got a 9 seed - generous. If we want what we all want, we'll have to beat a team like Florida anyway, might as well get past them early. Not to get ahead of myself but does anyone have a gif of Donvan doing the gator chomp when we beat Florida a couple years ago?

I think we can take Oklahoma as Fears is dar and away their best player and we can bottle up him like Dixon.

Florida is intriguing because Condon is not a match for Tarris and while Clayton Jr is their PG now he is not especially fast. They do not match up well Fagainst Liam and AK. And we are deeper…likely they are favored by 5-7
Florida was favored by 5.5 against Tennessee, we would be close to double digit dogs if not double digit.

I mean, we're higher on the s-curve than Creighton...so I don't think it matters that Marquette is higher than us.

well, sometimes it matters and sometimes it don't, which goes for every variable they cite

they just try to justify their decisions with inconsistent reasoning

have people saying teams like Florida and Bama play a completely different sport than we do.
They're very good this year, and would definitely be the best team we've played this year (losing to Memphis hurts us again!).

But they have no tournament experience and, while their defense is excellent, they're smaller guards. The types of teams that often bother us are bigger athletic guards like St. John's has. They also play at a much faster pace than us, so maybe maybe slowing them down can bother them?

We'd be around 11 point underdogs against Florida based on the KenPom line. Maybe 10.5.

Really? I love it. Get to enjoy Thursday and most of Friday before we play.
That’s my attitude as well, but if we’re playing after the sun goes down he’s probably going to complain about it. He’s very consistent, even when people point with Ramadan it’s much better for our players.

When the P3/4 takes over the NCAA tournament every member of these conferences will make the tourney. The Big East will be left out or given 1 or 2 slots. We need to get into whichever conference is #3 Asap. 14 SEC teams is a joke.

One of the less controversial fields in my memory. I can make a modest case for Boise over SDSU, but do not consider Boise's exclusion to be particularly significant. WVU did not deserve a bid either.

I could make a case for Creighton to be more like a 6 or 7 seed given that several of their losses occurred with Ashworth or Kalkbrenner out or playing hurt, but apparently this year injuries don't matter, so fine. The Big East got 5 bids. What they do with them from here is up to those teams.

AntG 1968 MVP of the thread!! Lets GO!!

St Peters/FDU??

C'mon. B+ game vs OK, A vs FL, 2 more A's and 2 more B+'s to go.

Lets go Huskies!

1. The amount of whining here is pathetic. We talked about it for a few weeks. We were on the 8/9 line. It will take our A game to beat Florida. Guess what? It would also take our A game to beat any of the ones or twos. That's the nature of the tournament. As @AntG168 said we don't have to beat Florida in a 7 game series. Just for 40 minutes. Scared of playing them? Go find something else to do. Have some pride.

2. For the people who though the BE got screwed...what is wrong with you? As @superjohn said, no they didn't, with the exception of Creighton, who has to play an 8 seed in a road game. I thought Xavier deserved to get in, but they could have easily been left out. The seeds were all about what we predicted.

3. I think Oklahoma is a good team, but there are better teams that could have been a 9.

4. If, if we can get to the Florida game, I think we will play well. All the pressure shifts to the 1 seed, especially with the idea of ending the streak of the two time champ. We keep that game close, and we will see what kind of moxy Florida has.
I agree on the Big East seeding. I would like to have seen UConn/St. Johns/Creighton/Marquette in different regions. That's my only gripe. Having UConn/St. Johns and Marquette/Creighton in the same regions is a bit surprising. Otherwise, 5 Big East teams all seeded where we thought is fine by me.

As for the Florida game, if we make it there, we will have to play really well and get some help from them. The way you beat them is get them in a tight game. Make them execute with the pressure on in a tight lower scoring game. UConn will need to use their offensive scheme to work clock and slow the game down. I can't worry about that game until after the Oklahoma game.

Positivity is the only way. If you don’t believe you have no shot. And yes we can look ahead at other possible games. It will have no affect on our game against OK. That’s the fun in the bracket. Lighten up. No one believes anyway. No pressure
Surely you must have several more answers. Please, don't hold back. I'm picturing a toddler at the beach eating mouthfuls of sand.

Beat Oklahoma, and ensure that UConn completes the year with a winning record against the SEC.

Florida holds the distinction of being Dan Hurley's first ever P5 true road game victory.

The Big East seeding was fair. They even got five into the tourney.

UConn is on the 8 line, if it beat Creighton would probably have jumped to 7 line ahead of Kansas, marquette, Missouri. If it won the Big East tourney, I think a case for a No. 6. But they lost in the semifinals. UConn's an 8 and deservedly so. .

As far as lack of respect for Big East...The conference is terrible in the bottom half. Seton Hall, Providence, Butler, DePaul were bad.

The size of the league is also an issue. I think we are going to see these teams expand. The SEC got in 14 teams, while the Big East only has 11 teams. I think conferences are going to have to get to 20 for hoops. These smaller conferences playing home and homes is just killing the metrics.

Huskies with 8 games in conference against bad teams this year.

The good news is that 32 teams will be eliminated already. So it’s like we advanced a round.
That's an F-U to UConn fans. But then again West Region games are being played in Providence. So what do I know.

Too many folks assuming we will slide by OU. One game at a time. OU has Fears who is great at penetrating and drawing fouls and multiple better than 40% three pint shooters. So, their strengths on offense are where we stink on defense. Doomed for sure!

Thanks Seth. Picked us to lose to OK.
I think Dan Hurley would love that we are picked to lose and would absolutely use it as motivation. So, I say, "Thanks, Seth!"
