NBA Summer League

Close to the end of the first quarter, Pelicans-Timberwolves. Hawkins hit his first three-point attempt, but missed the next couple of shots. I don't think he's tried anything short-range yet. Nothing noteworthy on defense. He did bite on a fake and give up a Euro-step layup.
 
Hawkins has looked pretty solid after the first quarter. Played about half the quarter and had 2 steals and a made 3. Definitely knows how to move off ball to the open spots even without a good playbook

Shooting percentage isn't great (1-3) but the misses were shots that we've seen him make countless times, so I'm not worried about it

Defense and playmaking is not looking great so far, but the confidence is definitely there. I'd say good game so far!
 
Hawkins 3-10 at halftime, but mostly good looks for him. Still not worried about it, if he keeps getting those looks then he'll be in a good spot
 
Hawkins looks like a long time Pro out there- makes all the right decisions & his quick twitch movements are ala Curry- going to be a wonderful offensive player…..
 
Was mid-sentence talking about how great Dyson Daniels has been for NO, and then he airballed a free throw :confused:
 
Andre just had a very Andre sequence.

Picked up a loose ball, zoomed down the court, turned it over on a risky pass, played 94 feet of hardcore defense, got another steal, hockey assist on an open layup

Looking comfortable out there

He is relentless. Maximum effort on both sides.
 
Hawkins had an and1 layup (missed the FT) followed by a pullup 3 a few possessions later. Pretty deep too

Followed by an unforced turnover passing the ball after. It looks like they're putting him on the ball a bit. Maybe trying to improve that part of his game
 
Strange game for Hawkins. He's making horrendous turnovers but his scoring ability is on full display. He's going to be hard for teams to defend with his constant movement and quick trigger.

Any idea if Landers Nolley signed a two way? He may make a team.
 
Hawkins 0-3 on FTs so far..very uncharacteristic

EDIT looks like his knee is giving him issues. I think he bumped it with someone else earlier in the game. About to go to the line after getting fouled on a 3 (classic)
 
Hawkins missed 5 ft's in a row, that won't happen again in his career. He looks like he may have a knee bruise.
 
Fingers crossed on Jordan’s knee..He looks like he put some weight on during off season…especially his legs they look thicker..
