Okay, if you are attempting to maximize ratings, wouldn't you prefer having watchable games? The playoffs have sucked. I haven't lasted past halftime for any of these blowouts, and I imagine I am not alone.

People tune in for OMG GAME 7!!!!!! And the more games=more money.

Yep...Game 7 = additional casuals = $$ = salary cap bump.
4 game sweeps of even the highest quality hoops = (essentially) a pay cut for players...

To some extent it is "solved" basketball, which makes any game a little boring.

Mid 2nd quarter and on this game has been fun.

It's finally heated up which makes it so frustrating how sloppy a lot of the play has been up to this point.

For sure, but there is a huge difference between Gordon clanking a wide open 3 off of penetration, and Harden dribbling down the clock for 20 seconds, only to brick a step-back.

We are almost watching a different sport right now with the hand checking that is allowed on defense versus what is allowed in the regular season. I don't even mind it as long as their is in-game consistency but the difference is so striking right now.

I also hate that jumping in a clearly not normal shooting manner to draw contact on a defender in the air is a foul, but that’s unrelated to the nba playoffs.
