I think they rested Embiid because the Sixers were up 3-0. Celtics needed to sweep, need to at least finish off the Hawks in 5, Sixers have a week of rest now while the Celtics have to play 2 more games.

Is Embiid 50% to be ready for the beginning of Round 2 because the Sixers were up 3-0 on the Nets?

Budenholzer is just a terrible playoff coach. One of the worst of the last two decades. Sure, the Bucks are missing Giannis, but the Heat are missing Herro and Butler missed a big chunk of the second half. Spoelstra has abused him this series, just like he did in 2020. Bucks need Giannis back.

Boston playing defense and rebounding for the first time all series. Wake up call that they can’t coast in the playoffs. Hawks are pretty tough and have hot shooters.

Boston hasn’t missed one good look they’ve gotten from three this series I swear. Their roster is crazy.

I'm seeing the opposite, tons of open misses, including from Tatum. Smart took and missed a bunch in the prior game. Al missed several too.

Difference last night was not settling for 3s, getting to the rim, rebounding and having JB look like JB. Between the mask and the cut on his hand, he wasn't himself.

Huh? They’ve shot like 43% from three as a team for the series. Lol

Their worst shooting performance is like 39.5% from game 1. The nets have been on fire. JB has struggled but came to play the last game.

Atlanta had to shoot nearly 70% from the field just to get a win. The Hawks have a great roster but the Celtics have been playing so well that it doesn’t even matter.

Exactly. Missed 57% of their shots from 3. They missed a lot of good looks. But yeah, the offense is loaded. White is a different player than he was last year, and you've added Brogdan. Hauser is a tremendous shooter off the deep bench. Grant doesn't play as much now, but went 4-4 in game 3. Deepest roster in the league.

43% is tremendous as a team

While shooting the 3rd most threes in the playoffs. For reference on how everyone else who is shooting that many is doing:

That's a weird way to say "shot well above league average from 3"
I'm not complaining. @HuskyWarrior611 said he didn't see them miss an open look from 3. I simply said I saw them miss a lot of open looks. Then he said they shot 43%. I wasn't suggesting they shot poorly.

Trae Young is an odd player. Goes stretches when he doesn't do much. Then, when his team is down, he just starts draining 3s from nearly half court without missing anything. Makes small leads very uncomfortable.

The Athletic anonymously polled players, and Trae Young was overwhelmingly voted "most overrated" IIRC. Bad defense and garbage time heroics likely played a big part in that.

I almost never see a Hawks game, so it's been eye opening. They run a lot of questionably legal screens for him. He's quick, but he wanted nothing to do with shooting over Derek White, so started bombing from way, way outside the line. He puts up big numbers of assists though.

That team is lacking in playmakers. Aside from Young and Murray, nobody passes the ball. Hunter needs to get better at that to take the next step.

His shooting numbers are not all that good and they tend to play better as a team when it's Murray's show and not his. He's also one of the worst defenders in the league. Atlanta's in a tough situation with him going forward.

To be fair, Murray was also a traffic cone on defense yesterday. Atlanta's in trouble if that is their backcourt of the future. They're both young so there's room to improve but Trae is at $40M+, and next year is Dejounte's contract year. He's going to want a max

Trae - $40M+ through 2027
Collins - $25M+ through 2026
Capela - $20M+ through 2025
Bogdanovic - $18M next year then FA
Murray - $17M next year then FA

They're going to have a lot of decisions to make soon..

Collins gets the “Having a Great Contract Year Then Mailing It In” award. He isn’t even trying most games.

I think Murray got suspended for game 5.
