And maybe more importantly, there doesn't seem to be any sort of abnormal jump in attempts from regular season to playoffs when comparing him to other top players:

SGA - 8.8 FTA in the regular season --> 9.2 FTA in the playoffs

Brunson - 6.9 FTA --> 7.8 FTA

Haliburton - 3.0 FTA --> 3.4 FTA

Murray - 3.7 FTA --> 4.0 FTA

Mitchell - 5.1 FTA --> 9.9 FTA

Tatum - 6.1 FTA --> 6.8 FTA

Brown - 5.1 FTA --> 6.0 FTA

Butler - 7.7 FTA --> 7.3 FTA

Edwards - 6.3 FTA --> 5.8 FTA

His attempts have actually increased at a slightly lesser rate than the average player, so while you'd have to compare usage rates and a handful of other variables to make this a more exact study, you'd think it would show up in this data if he were indeed being officiated differently than everyone else.

Of course, it could just be that, based on my limited research, Edwards is getting a bad whistle, which makes it stand out more when SGA is officiated normally. But I'm more inclined to believe that SGA living at the line is more a result of him settling for threes less than other star players.
Edwards settles for outside jumpers, just like Tatum. SGA doesn’t take many 3s at all. He certainly baits, I would be dumb to deny that, but it’s part of the game and the Refs call it.

I’ve always been in the state of mind that take it out in the Refs for calling it rather than the player who is taking advantage of it. Change the rules in the offseason, have Silver emphasize it more.

Many fans on twitter run with it, and it’s fun to poke at SGA’s embellishment, but Brunson does it a ton and may even exaggerate the contact more, Luka, Trae, Jokic, etc. It’s really whatever.

Haliburton hit the 3 that wasn't, very reminiscent of Hawkins shot against Creighton.

Nesmith doing his Steph Curry/Ray Allen impression.

Damn, Obi got fouled on that, but I have no idea what the hell Robinson was doing on that play

Wow what a game. Nesmith pulled Indy back from the dead in this game. Indy is the basketball version of Rasputin.

Knicks completely collapsed so they can only blame themselves, but that is an absolutely brutal and inexcusable missed goaltend that cost the Knicks 5 points

Make your fts and don’t turn it over and none of it matters. You never put it in another teams hands or the refs. There has been a lack of focus by the Knicks all year, really shouldn’t be too suprised.

Indiana's ridiculous. They score like a video game.

Knicks were up 119-105 with 2:51 left. Pacers won because Nesmith hit everything he threw in last few minutes. Just absolutely insane.

That game-tying bounce-in by Haliburton was the icing on the cake. Ridiculous.

That's the worst loss I've ever seen in anything. The Pacers scored 20 points in 2.5 minutes. Nesmith hit something like 6 threes in a row. Knicks missed ft's. Haliburton bricks the shot, it goes 8 feet in the air and comes back down through the hoop. It's the Knicks and I'm used to comical s^^^ happening but this one had me in disbelief as it was all unfolding.

I tried my best to keep my cool….for my 16 year olds son sake. But this one opened scars. I felt bad for my son as he is too young to have ever had to deal with the Knicks.

I actually prefer if they stay bad…..but I will say this….there better be some hard fouls on Haliburton like real hard fouls.

That should be a technical. You can’t slit your throat choking someone is just as violent. Not a family type gesture but it Indiana they are just the luckiest team I have ever seen. That shot was pure luck and the he does that gesture.

I would start PJ Tucker and have him be a goon at Hailburton, John Chaney style but that's just me. Knicks are idiots for giving the Pacers a chance at luck.

The ball is out of the picture in this shot, it actually went way above the shotclock and bounced in. How high is the top of the shotclock? I've never seen something like that happen at the end of a game. Just absurd.

Didn't Don Nelson (maybe it was Havlicek) hit an absurd game winner in the Finals on a similar bounce?

I got accidentally wrapped up in watching "No No: A Dockumentary," the 2014 Dock Ellis movie. I checked the basketball score twice, saw that the Knicks had opened up a lead, and then grown it to mid-teens, so I kept watching the movie.

Imagine my surprise when I saw it was 124-121 with under a minute left, and I could switch channels to watch the end.

If somebody thought it was a good idea to keep this thread's "NBA first round" title throughout the second round and now into Conference Finals, your mojo's bluff got called.

If you care about the Knicks, open up a new thread or at least change the name of this one.

Normally when you blow that kind of lead it's because you completely unravel and start turning it over like crazy. This seemed more like the Pacers getting ridiculously hot and the Knicks making just enough mistakes to open the door.
