How many recruits did we lose or have a huge impact on?

Uconn's future, great to hear

I fail to understand how this imbecile Manuel handled this.

He claimed he needed to see a full body of work and them grants him an extension w/o him even coaching a Conf game?

I support the extension but why didn't this clown do it sooner so we could have potentially gotten 1-2 recruits?

The Manuel hire is baffling, the guy is terrible. Go compare him to Jurich.

Boom, this is news I've been waiting to hear. Glad it's a 5 year deal instead of a 3 year deal, expect recruiting to take off.

Grades you nut. That's all this was ever about. Unlike you and some of us Warde and Susan care about grades and eliminating the negative view (right or wrong) that the nation has about our academics

The kids obviously relate to KO. They play hard for him. It was obviously about the first semester grades. Done.

1 semester's results? Ok. I support the hire, not the process.

It's apparent we're stuck with a completely incompetent AD.

This is the right move, but I am still confused as to why the AD needed to wait 2 months. Basically he has watched KO coach these guys against no-so-tough out of conference schedule. I don't see how he has discovered anything that we didn't know back in October.
I guess Manual wanted to see how Ollie handled the team and himself.I think he saw a lot: this team plays hard for KO and he conducted himself like a pro.

I completely disagree. Manuel has been awful if you look at his work to this date, he seemingly incongruent priorities and his vision for UConn athletics.

But yeah, ur right, I should wax poetically about how successful he has been.

You routinely have some of the most negative, poorly thought-out responses - little speed bumps tucked neatly into every thread you wander into.

He may be incompetent. He may have waited too long, sure. But you can't blame him for wanting to make sure we didn't have 3 kids ineligible after first semester grades came out. If you don't care about the kids getting good grades talk to me in March. I understand the NCAA doesn't make sense but they've shown time and time again that if you don't play by their rules you won't play in March. We NEEDED to make sure KO would comply.

thnk god u got something done warde. now to the other 100 things to do that could have been done months ago.

the grades excuse is bull also. stop it, thats not how u hire a dam bball coach at uconn. if for 1 minute thats how warde thinks, then it confirms ppl heres thoughts that he needs to be gone yesterday. this should have been done months ago and it wasn't. and nothing else has been done either.

this puts out a small section of the dumpster fire finally, to bad it burned for 3 months already

Not a fan of Warde's moves or lack of moves so far as AD but I will give him a pass on waiting to give Ollie a real contract. The more you read about it, it's clear Herbst and Manuel were waiting on first semester grades. We probably missed out on a recruit or 2 but it's not a big deal. I still expect another 2013 recruit and 2014 will be a big recruiting haul.

KO needs to call the best available big man in High School who can rebound like a monster and tell him I want you to be my first recruit.

Agree, and why the 1 year gimmick? Why not 2 years and extend if it works and cut bait if it doesn't? Why harm the program?

Also, does anyone here think Manuel is a bigger AD than Jurich?

thnk ****ing god u got something done warde. now to the other 100 things to do that could have been done months ago.

First positive move we've seen from WM, and it's a biggie. Congrats KO!

Let's cap it with a win tonight over the left coast Huskies.
