Arike reminds me of Grayson Allen for Duke who used trip players as well.

Eventually Coach K bowed to public pressure and suspended him 'indefinitely.'

'indefinitely' being 1 game.

In any event the next time it happens it is less likely to be ignored by officials or opposing coaches.

Hope so.

I’m less concerned with lame pc twitter posts and more concerned with AO taking two vicious cheap shots on UConn guards in the last 5 minutes of the game. And only getting called for one.

Words fail me.

Did Stewie & Muffet have some kind of a run in somewhere? I don't understand MM's dislike of Stewie.

Would Vic have sat Itty Bitty or Vivian's for anything the last time Uconn played them?
AO is that important to Muffet scheme of playing. I don't think Muffet disagreed with any of AO's actions.
100% Vic would and has pulled players who he felt lost their composure. He sat them to give them cooling off time and just time to settle down, I believe MOST coaches would sit a player that lost composure. As far a deliberate foul that might possible injury a player, I believe most coaches would pull that player for the rest of the game, that said I find it hard to believe Muffet thought the foul was deliberate.

As I posted previously, this may have something to do with it...

This may be a stretch, but believe this is related to recruiting. Likely wants to keep focus on last year's NCAA win versus all the UConn great players and recent history of UConn dominance. If every time you bring up a top UConn moment with MM, it dilutes her message.

Thank you excellent from start to finish.
At the point of the AO's "foul" she was the leading scorer and the game was within 5 points or less until the last minute. If Muffet had pulled Arike and sat her for more than 20 seconds what would be the reaction of ND Fan base? During and after the game?
I thank you for not believing Muffet thought the 2 fouls were deliberate, as most of your comments that was on the higher road.

She and her team refused to applaud for Stewie getting an award. It's petty stuff.

The fish rots from the head down as they say. People are hyper critical of Geno yet his players consistently show good sportsmanship. When I see our kids public personas I am always quietly appreciative for CD. She's done one heck of job with these young women, for decades.

The funniest thing about that incident was it came in the same week that Muffet said that with Summit gone there was a lack of class at the top of the game. Everyone knew she was taking a shot at Geno. Then with less than 2 minutes to go in UConn's beat down of the Irisk in the title game Doris Burke decided to defend Geno from the slur and Dave O'Brien chimed in too:

4. She did something in the Louisville game..... think she undercut Fuehring or Shook going for a rebound. Cant even remember if she was called for a foul or not. Maybe that doesnt qualify for losing one's mind..... but our section of the Coliseum wasn't too happy about it (at least I wasnt )

Hopefully the attention that she gained nationwide Sunday has also got the attention of the NCAA and the officials that work women’s games. If I’m a referee, I’m watching her closely now and for the rest of the season.
She’s been doing little things that have gone unnoticed up to now. Hopefully those days are gone. She tried to undercut Dangerfield as she beat her on a drive to the basket. It was bang bang, but it was not hard enough to get the ref’s attention, but it was plain to see on TV.

She won’t get away with that type of play at the next level against grown adult women. They’ll put her in check real quick.

I guess MM has no interest in ever coaching the US National team over the next 10-15 years, because I’ll guarantee you Stewie will be a fixture on that team.

Isnt She like 67 or something? Nothing against the elderly... but thats kinda old to be starting coaching the national team, dont you think?

The easiest way to explain Muffet's behavior over the years: inferiority complex. Hard to believe for a coach with a couple of titles and approaching 900 wins, but I guess one can grow tired of always being the bridesmaid while coaching in the Pat and Geno eras.

Is it not commonly said that a team takes on the personality of its coach?

I asked Siri, she’s 63.

I was in Columbus for the final four sitting third row with the ND fans. I have been to 5 FF and tons of games UCONN has been the away team and i have never encountered such rude fans as those from ND. One fan heckled Lobo every time she walked by us. We were very close to the court. Even Muffets husband sat in front of us and was escorted out by security becuase he didnt have a ticket for the seat. He threw a fit right in front of us. I'm not surprised becuase now I know that Notre Dame culture is one of rudeness and entitlement. It permeates with the McGraws themselves to the fans and down to the players.

This is a pretty good and humorous rundown that someone put together in a jiffy:

I'm not an active Twit or is it Twitist, or Twitterer?...as if it matters, especially in this 'case'... but the way it looks above, it means BOTH? Someone must know. (Sadly, I've never had the honor(?) of blocking or being blocked by a Twit).

PS: Social Media is such a wonderful advance to our culture and society...;)
There is a guy who lives down the street from us, and he told me once that " That twitter stuff is for the birds". I honestly do not believe he saw the unintended pun. But my grandkids could not survive a day without it !
