Rebecca was a better scorer, rebounder, shot blocker, and passer (statistically speaking, of course). She did play with Kara a lot but never had a problem playing the 5. But, no one is going wrong either way![]()
Ah well, maybe in Rio next year...The comparison between Rebecca and Tina is competitive only during their UConn careers.
If you compare pro careers, it's really no contest.
Have to admit there have been times over the last 20 years when I would gladly have let the confederate states leave!BTW...you can't make this stuff up but a recent Lois Lerner email quoted her as saying Lincoln may have been the worst US president ever because he didn't let the South secede!

I perused Lobo's stats last winter. I found them awfully impressive, especially given the difference in games played.I checked the stats just to see how much better Tina's were than Rebecca's. Well, I got a surprise
Tina's rebounding and scoring stats are only better when totaled. Rebecca has a higher career per game average for both scoring and rebounding but played 26 less games (126 vs 152): 16.9 ppg and 10.1 rpg vs. 15.4 and 9.0. Rebecca also had more total blocks and assists, meaning higher per game totals, too: 3.1 bpg and 2.1 vs. 1.5 bpg and 1.1 apg.
Tina was, however, a better shooter: .610 vs. .498.
Now, obviously, stats become a function of who is on your team, too. Tina would've scored more if Maya wasn't on the team, but, likewise, Rebecca would've scored more if Kara wasn't on the team.
In any event, I found it interesting![]()
I agree with your logic, but the fact that Rebeccca is “smart and cleans up well” is hardly a discriminator, when compared to Sue bird and Tina Charles who are both smart and clean up nicely as well.I perused Lobo's stats last winter. I found them awfully impressive, especially given the difference in games played.
Plus, she's smart and cleans up well.
Why GENO??? He never played at Uconn, never was an All American (All Italian 8 times). Just what are his exploits? At the top is GENO..
Such a tough choice between those 3 (Bird, Charles, Lobo).
Think those 3 are above the next tier though,
Abrosimova, Wolters, Montgomery, Sales, Cash, Bascom, Rizzotti, Dolson, Jefferson, KML
Mt Rushmore , IMHO, is not about the four greatest presidents. Although you could clearly argue three of the best are there(Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln), the inclusion of Teddy Roosevelt had more to do with his national park initiatives and his work in South Dakota( read the Bully Pulpit if you have a chance). In that spirit, one could argue for Geno as the program builder or Lobo as the early face of the program. The other 3 have got to be DT, MM and Stewie.
BTW...you can't make this stuff up but a recent Lois Lerner email quoted her as saying Lincoln may have been the worst US president ever because he didn't let the South secede!
Would Jefferson really make the top 4? I would easily replace him with FDR, LBJ, or Wilson. He probably deserves it more than TR.
My brain just melted trying to comprehend what the WCBB world would do if that line up were ever possible........PG: Sue
SG: DT
SF: Maya
PF: Breanna
C: Rebecca
That seems really easy, right?

Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence!!! By the way, construction on Mt Rushmore started in the late 1920's so LBJ and FDR weren't thought of yet...I suspect you knew that and were just raising the question of who are the four best presidents.Would Jefferson really make the top 4? In a heartbeatWhoa, whoa, whoa. You're replacing Thomas Jefferson with LBJ?

) Chick’s got some positives going on.Without that 1st championship, who knows if Geno might not have moved on, Sue, Diana, might not have come, so Rebecca has to be on there.Let's not over think this people. It's Lobo, Taurasi, Moore and Stewart. Next question?

It's no contest in college career as well. Lobo took UConn to the top. Anyone who actually watched that first title game real time knows that Lobo was the rock. As great as Charles was for UConn, she never the top dog.The comparison between Rebecca and Tina is competitive only during their UConn careers.

If you ask Geno, he would say the first president was Kerry Bascom. I think she should be in the mix with Rebecca and Nykesha Sales.Voted for Lobo - how can you have Mt. Rushmore without George Washington, he might not be the best president but he was the first. Same goes for Lobo - it also means you have one from each era of greatness with no overlap. (Sue is one of my all time favorites, but with DT selected already, Lobo just seems more fitting. And with Maya already selected, the same goes for Tina.
That would be a dead heart. Not in a millennium, as it were.In a heartbeat
Shocking that you're serious. Whoa, whoa, whoa. You're replacing Thomas Jefferson with LBJ?

BUT anyway, back to the UCONN Mt Rushmore, looks like Ms Lobo (Rushin, hmmm Rushin, Mt Rushmore guess it makes sense) in a pretty close one over Ms Bird.
So there you have it folks. Now all we need is a mountain, a sculptor and lots and lots of money.[/
Ha! Well, you’re right. And cleaning up well would generally not be a criterion for inclusion on a Mount Rushmore (unless it’s a Mount Rushmore of 6’4” smart, pretty Cubano-American women who played basketball well in the late 20th-century—then I’d say yeah).
But truth be told, I had stepped out of the thread for a moment (I’m prone to such insouciance) and my mindset was on adulating Lobo in general. Wally’s post piqued a memory of spending a good deal of time looking at the UCONN media guide last season. I was struck by how good Lobo’s numbers were in roughly a full season’s fewer games than, say, a Dolson. A lot of water has passed under the bridge in the past twenty years and a lot of great players have come and gone, but her stats still sparkle.
Plus, speaking of numbers, she’s got a few bucks in the bank. (Also not a criterion.) Chick’s got some positives going on.
As many former Uconn greats Ms Lobo is so much more than just having played in a championship or played basketball. True with out WBB she wouldn't be known. I love Sue Bird she is almost my perfect everything, yet if it is the choice of Mt Rushmore (Uconn style) I'd have to go along with Ms Lobo.
I have to agree with TR NOW. At the time TR was big time stuff.Would Jefferson really make the top 4? I would easily replace him with FDR, LBJ, or Wilson. He probably deserves it more than TR.

Wilson and FDR (great WW 2 leader) stuffed the Constitution into the dresser drawer and dictated (I chose that word carefully) what they believed the Country should be. Social Security, which I obtain benefits from, is a Roosevelt Ponzi scheme and with Johnsons addition of Medicare just assured few would pay for many at some point in the scheme. For the first 20 or 30 years of SS or more people collected hundreds of times more than they paid into the system. How do you stop a bad system without damning millions to starvation or the re-institution of Old ages homes or poor houses?? Thank you FDR, LBJ and Wilson (a Stauntion Va guy)
