They obviously *could* have won. I seem to remember Carla Berube missing a few lay-ups in OT.

What I remember most was the post-game interview with that sweetheart Michelle Marciniak. When asked what the Vols game plan was she answered, "Game plan? Our game plan was to jam it down Wolters throat!" And when Big Girl let them do it again the following year I was not a happy fan.

But back to the OP, who goes on the UConn Rushmore? I say you have to go with the players on the teams that *could* have won and did over the players who *could* have won but didn't. That's why Sales isn't in the discussion, imo.

You can't be the greatest, if you've never won the big prize, so Rebecca, DT, Maya, and Stewie are your 4, until someone else comes along.

And the losses to La Tech, Georgia, and Syracuse? Perceived season-long underperformance or not, that team finished where they should have.

And, yes: Lobo, D, Maya, Stewie.

That's the reality of the situation.

If we're creating an all-time UConn first team and second team, Sales belongs. But there's only spot up for grabs on Mt. Rushmore, and there's no way Sales gets it over players like Lobo, Charles, or Bascom.
