Permission to negotiate any and all ......

Stupid stream broke
Mine too. Just as he was announcing what they were doing. Sounds like they gave him the power to seek a new conference.

Now is the time to explore all of our options before we lock into our commitment with the Big 12.

It's blacked out for BE fans.
According to chip brown the big12 wanted long term irrevocable committment and Mizzou said they would rather persue other options. Not sure what that means exactly.

KOMU 8:
If you can't see the stream - The Board of Curators are speaking - A unanimous action was taken by the curators: The board of curators delegates the authority to Chancellor Deaton to take any and all actions to explore options for conference affiliation that are "best for the university."

It means they're SEC bound. Curators can't announce it. They have to leave it up to the chancellor.

"MU exploring all options before committing to the Big 12-2-1"

I can't watch either, but just read this post on another board.

What a non-event if that's all they have to say.

Deaton has relinquished his role as the chair of the Big 12 board of directors.

Looks like they are history. Worst case scenario for UConn. Here we come, CAA.

It means nothing except that they want the flexibility to leave the Big 12 if it is in their interest and they had to start a half hour late to announce it.

The long term commitment and two years of chaos gives Missouri some legal options

They were asked for a commitment, and they said no. Maybe Missouri has some options. I can guarantee that Texas has some options. The Big 12 may become every man for themselves. Hopefully.

Then the Big 12 should have a meeting and vote them out. "go explore your options." They won't be missed

It's in their best interest.

A & M did this. They can't announce the SEC in one go. They have to show a trail of due diligence to avoid an SEC tampering lawsuit fron Baylor, etc.

I think that's what we have to hope for at this point.

If they hold the line with the remaining 8 teams (assuming Mizzou bolts) I fear they could very well take Louisville, Cincy, TCU and WV. Which would be the absolute worse case scenario (well I guess if ND joined Big10 or ACC with Rutgers, that would be the worse case scenario).

I wish one of these schools and or leagues would just grow a pair and get it over with

IT took A&M a month or more -- Missouri may take longer

choas is better for us. if big 12 teams start going nuts everywhere (which looks very unlikely now) that's a great sign for us.

Girl, you know I love you. But if you keep asking me for a ring, I'm gonna leave you and go down south.

Or... I think we should see other people, to test the strength of our relationship.
