Will it actually get better after the season is underway?
Nothing will change.

Figures. If she had transferred from MSST to UConn you can bet she'd be doing the full year.
I don’t get the hype. She’s very unproven against any team with a pulse.
But I’ll take yalls word for it. I guess this means State will coast to the finals now?
So he didn't trash her then.He practically trashed the kid to the media
So, Geno tries to be a nice guy and let's her transfer early and it comes back to bite him. MSST may very well be a Final 4 or 8 opponent and Geno inadvertently hurt his team's chances. Something is not right here. You can easily make the argument that Uconn would have won the last 2 titles if transfer rules were uniformly applied.
Goes back way before that,A lot of the people feel that the NCAA is biased towards UConn because Shabazz Napier blatantly called them out on national TV after the 2013 National Championship game.

You beat me too it UC Baller lol i blame this one on Geno . If he would have shut up about why he dismissed her she would have most likely had to sit out . Either way congrats AEH ! Tear it up for MSU , i think they just leapfrogged Louisville and Baylor in my Preseason rankings now . They have a guard that can fill it up to relief Big T
knowing Miss St would probably seek and receive a waiver from the NCAA...since the flood gates were opened by ND. If anything he helped her out for opening his mouth...as you say. Don't understand your statement there, would that be a good thing for Geno/UConn if she sits out?I'm starting to think this plays the biggest role in the immediate eligibility issue, and perhaps some coaches are cool with it while others choose to be petty and spiteful. As for AEH’s eligibility, it’s my understanding that part of the appeal process includes talking to a transfer’s previous school to seek their input prior to the final decision. Knowing Geno, it would not surprise me if he supported MS St’s request for AEH to be immediately eligible.
How can it not make sense to grant a waiver to all? I'm pleased for AEH!Nobody has to sit out after transferring anymore?
Exactly. Makes you wonder what other coaches tell the NCAA when they come calling. How can it not make sense to grant a waiver to all? I'm pleased for AEH!
A couple comments. Geno never trashed AEH to the media. His comments were made at a private gathering of Husky supporters in Philadelphia that was unfortunately recorded on a smartphone and posted here on the BY.

Geno and Vic are friends. I could see them having an honest conversation when AEH transferred. Something like Geno saying she got off in the wrong foot at UConn and suggesting that a fresh start at MS St might be good for her. I don’t think Geno is the type of coach that will hold a grudge against an 18 year old kid who made some mistakes.I'm starting to think this plays the biggest role in the immediate eligibility issue, and perhaps some coaches are cool with it while others choose to be petty and spiteful.

He said she did not do what she was told to do? Multiple times? That is not "trashing" her. People beg to know what happened, but when he tells them some do not like it. I was unhappy that a good basketball player who committed to UConn early did not work out, but not with Geno's explanation. I wish her well. And I wish the NCAA would publish an explanation for every waiver granted or denied. The more you know...He practically trashed the kid to the media
I don't think it was ever said officially she was "dismissed". I think it was her choice to leave.
I’m sure you are correct. If you recall there was a period of time over the winter break when AEH was not with the team, but not off the team either, presumably at home with her family to consider her options. I strongly suspect that before she left, Geno advised AEH of his concerns as well as his expectations going forward if she decided to remain with the team. Ultimately, she decided not to stay.At the time it appeared very clearly that it was a mutual departure. I.e. her choice with Geno's blessing.
You open up a whole new can of worms if you allow athletes to transfer without penalty.
How many transfers from UConn have turned into superstars at their new school? EDD obviously, but she transferred out of basketball entirely.
At the time this "unofficial recording of Geno's words" came out I was so angry that Geno would choose to rip a kid apart. I say many things to my spouse I'd never say in public. Meaning: What is said in private belongs and should stay PRIVATE.He said she did not do what she was told to do? Multiple times? That is not "trashing" her.
