With Q1 in the books I would pick Russell over McCowan after the first. McCowan is big but just doesn't looked as skilled and polished thus far.

Now Vivians wins her battle with Nared. (Spelling may be wrong on names)

Basketball is about a lot more than individual matchups, but it's still fun to look at those as fans. So far Vivians is definitively outplaying Nared, but Russell is clearly outplaying McCowan. Russell is scoring in a variety of ways and McCowan looks pretty much limited to offensive rebounds and putbacks.

Reminds me of the BU MSU game last year. She did't play well against Kalani Brown who is her own size. Williams and Vivians won that game and the UConn game fro them.

Twice in a row Davis tried inside against length and failed. Twice MSS came down for hoops.

Tenn's Frontline goes 6-'2", 6-'2", and 6-'6" but they're having a lot of trouble rebounding.

Glad to see UT giving Russell some touches away from the basket. She has drained two jumpers from about 15 feet and also had a nice drive to the basket. They should have done that against ND.

Did Russell just give up on that play?

Many TN players remind me of that Carter girl, I can't ever see Geno letting players continuing to play selfish ball and throwing up shot that misses after shot that misses when they could be passing to an open player for an easy bucket...... I just don't get it. Isn't it a team sport?

Carter ranks is the Top 5 in assists per game among DI freshman (somewhere around 5 a game the last I checked). The girl can play. No it doesn't resemble what UConn does but how man teams can you say do? I would vote her freshman of the year.

The girl can play, but freshmen don't really put up that many assists. There have been many games where she's had over 30 attempts from the floor (generally with single digit makes)..... The girl will never learn to play SMART if she's allowed to throw up useless shot after shot....

Rebounding is more about effort than size. Size + effort = dominant rebounder

When it comes to rebounding, positioning, anticipation and, above all, determination, are more important than height.

TN pressure defense starting to make an impact. Westbrook with tough foul line jumper 52-43 end of Q3.
Vivians was out with 3 fouls but should play as much of 4th Q as foul situation allows.

Rennia Davis of Tenn reminds me of 2019 Jordan Horston...........lots of length, very athletic............not sure if UConn is interested but just a built in mismatch at the offensive end.............

Maybe a trifecta. UConn wins with strong bench contributions, Miss St bludgeoning TN 71-52 and Coughlin's Jaquars may knock the Patriots out of the Playoff's.
Up 17-10 :D

So Tennessee went 1-3 during their 4 game stretch against good teams that everybody had circled on the calendar.

Nared was 3-14 today. 5-14 against Notre Dame, 5-13 against South Carolina 6-18 against Texas A&M. Terrible shooting % on the season. She needs to be taken off the Wooden watch list and out of consideration for All American teams.

good victory for Miss State as expected..............Vivians is much improved on the drive...............going to be a very tough team to beat.............multiple three point threats, good defense/rebounding............ they lose four important players next season so this is their big chance to win it all.............
