Michigan State Post Game Thread

Hey Val, that’s another $2 million for the Big East conference.

I’m sure you thank you lucky stars every day that you have UConn in your conference

You’re welcome.

Reed has physically transformed. Maybe even from a couple weeks ago. It’s not just the haircut. I think He’s played himself into the draft.
Reed has been a projected 2nd rounder all year, the question for him will he get a guaranteed deal or a 2way, he's a guaranteed guy imo. He fits too much into what is needed from a backup/3rd big

You are not wrong, in my mind, Darling wanted to play hero ball, and be the darling at the end of the game again. Selfishness
Nah - they were down three and time was running out. If he tried to make a move they would have just fouled him - had to take the space and let it rip. He did the right thing, was wide open shot, a bit deep. They weren't getting anything better in that spot.

Wasn't it 6-6? 2 from Karaban and 4 from Reed. I was ready to kill them for the FT shooting during the game but they came up big down the stretch.

Btw, Karaban missing those 2 at Villanova last year might have been a blessing in disguise.

I truly have never been more confident in an upcoming 2-2 as I was with Karaban heading to the line last night.

Clean up the around the rim buckets and get back to FT high percentage, we have a great shot here

.-.
Also now 17-0 in rounds of 16 and later going back to 2011 (spanning 3 different coaching regimes mind you), AK’s third Elite Eight

Crazy how much history we get to watch being made by guys with UConn on their jerseys
You could add 2009 and it goes to 19-1.

Solo and Braylon very shakey handling the rock. I don't know how we got by with that sort of production from our guards.

Solo had an important game for him and us. Not dominant by any means, but we need that to be his floor.
Those three sentences are back to back. Pick one. I know Demery and Smith are part of "our guards", but so is Solo, who as you say, "had an important game"

His all-Big East Center was also free for that shot and is a fine shooter from that distance. Zuby might have made it but wasn't given the chance when the point guard, who was having a poor shooting night, didn't give up the ball. I don't wonder for long knowing who is in Pinto's doghouse.

Not to mention, Alex's late three might have been his prettiest ever.
Malachi stepping up big time!

.-.
And they've played the best seed at every level; it's not as if they played an 11 or 14 in this spot, let alone a 6.

15-7-3-1 is the most difficult possible path for a 2-seed.
Well, if they win they'll snap that streak.

I thought we were much better with Malichi than we were with Silas today — Silas doesn’t appear to be back to himself quite yet. We’ll need him to take a jump forward for Sunday.

Solo and Braylon hit some big shots tonight - happy to see that.

Reed and Karaban were simply remarkable.

And lastly, I truly think it was one of Dan’s best coaching performances. Also impressed by his composure throughout the game.

What an awesome win!
One of the biggest shots of the game was Braylon’s three when MSU scored the first 7 points of the second half. Tarris then stole the ball and went in for a dunk. 4 minutes of everything going MSU’s way ended up with them only reducing the lead by 2 points.

Last night's win just gets better with age. I'll worry about Duke tomorrow.
We don't need to worry about Duke.

Duke needs to worry about us.

.-.
Took a while for his ankle to heal.

His mobility has been impressive.
I couldn’t believe how high he got on that early first half dunk. Amazing for someone his size. He really is a freak athlete.
