who cares. If Bobby Hurley is at this game who is he rooting for?

Storybook stuff. He was a bit up and down thismmCan't stop thinking about that early clock 28ft three by Karaban with like a minute and a half left
We did remarkable stuff under Calhoun. Ollie won a national championship. Hurley has us on our best run ever. They won the Big East regular season, they won the Big East tournament and they made the Sweet Sixteen. They had a good season, and given the long, deep hole the program had fallen into, they should be pleased with it. It’s unfortunate for the whole conference that they didn’t figure out their identity until conference play started, as their failure in the OOC season killed conference metrics, but they had a good season.
Our success in the NCAA tournament over the decades has caused reality to be a pipe dream. We have now won 13 straight games in the Regionals and Final Four combined. Going back to our loss in Michigan to Michigan State to the Final Four. That is not normal. It is frankly a statistical anomaly. Really good teams have their seasons end in the regionals and the Final Four all the time. Our experience is what it is, but expecting other fanbases to only be celebrating national championships is unrealistic.
I guess what I’m saying is we shouldn’t care if they have their moment. We have a game on Sunday to care about.
True UConn fans saw that last three and thought “Eh, 100 other guys coulda done that”
Freshman heavy, coaching matchup, not as physically and mentally intenseTell me how.
Don't agree.
Hey, when you have 1 less national championship than La Salle and fewer final fours than Providence getting to the Sweet 16 is a huge accomplishment. Very good job Johnnies. Rick has done a masterful job of making you pretty good. The beauty of college basketball and being a UConn fan is watching guys like Alex and Reed play with the heart and focus and desire they're showing right now. It's like they're possessed and just guided by a higher power.
And on a different note, the St Johns twitterverse was laughable last night. Comments like "I'll remember this season for the rest of my life" and "This season was still a success" type nonsense. They put up freakin' billboards already glazing their regular season. If we lost in that game, this place would have a 27 page thread complaining how we underachieved. I'll take that, and the expectations of greatness, any day.
@DeepsterFirst UConn game in like 20 years that I had to completely miss. Went to bed at like 9:30 to get up 1 because my wife booked a flight at a lunatic hour. Get to watch it in the plane though.
Only child, huh?I will pick my team soon enough. If Bobby Hurley is at this game who is he rooting for?
What does this even mean? You'll pick your team soon enough?I will pick my team soon enough. If Bobby Hurley is at this game who is he rooting for?
If St Johns wants to spend money on billboards in Connecticut instead of having more money to compete with us for players, good for them. Maybe that explains why they’re rarely competitive with us.Yeah. That’s all great. And St Peter’s made the Elite 8 in 2022.
They have BILLBOARDS in CT already. Let’s tap the brakes on national prominence and “dream seasons” a bit.
Elite 8!!!!
Obviously I want to kick the cr@p out of Duke but this season is a big success no matter what.
Ak and Tarris have balled out in these past three games.
.
Happy as hell.
Cherry on top now..
Beat Duke...
Beat the hell out of them...
I want a bit more
And they've played the best seed at every level; it's not as if they played an 11 or 14 in this spot, let alone a 6.This made me laugh out loud. They’re in the Elite Eight.
My one and only lingering question about St John’s is whether Pitino and the rest of the team had Dylan Darling whacked after that horrid hero ball three to seal their fate. Read too many of his own headlines after winning the Kansas game on that layup.View attachment 118782
Totally agree but I'm actually happy I don't have to dislike Zuby anymore. I lean towards rooting for kids who are true scholar athletes and that's a title no one can take from that young man.
"Uconn championships are cuz they gOt LuCkY"And they've played the best seed at every level; it's not as if they played an 11 or 14 in this spot, let alone a 6.
15-7-3-1 is the most difficult possible path for a 2-seed.
The biggest thing is you still have to watch the game live right? How can you not?Oh, I saw it.
Let’s be honest. Poor Fish is a shell of his former self. Ranting on twitter about how flawed the team is all season. Skipping tourney games because of an early flight. Even having his wife plan a trip during March Madness. The poor guy has finally become one of the simps he made fun of here for decades. I’ll always love him but yeesh.
Now you understand a women's only fan.I liked it better when we won every game by double digits. I'm too old for this stress.
Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.Btw can I get some credit on my score prediction? I was kind of close.
My prediction 69-64
Actual score 67-63
Took a while for his ankle to heal.Reed has physically transformed. Maybe even from a couple weeks ago. It’s not just the haircut. I think He’s played himself into the draft.
To this point, this is the:We did remarkable stuff under Calhoun. Ollie won a national championship. Hurley has us on our best run ever.
