Michigan lost almost 2 full adjEM points with that win. That's a lot. Still crazy high, but a serious hit to the metrics.

They are very good but they are not the invincible juggernaut RuffRuff been trying to force down everyone’s throats.
I think our style of play is a matchup nightmare for them right now.

Our systematic approach to the half court game would wear them down over 40 minutes. We force teams into defending 100’s of off ball screens. They could pack it in like Creighton which could disrupt us.

It would be a fascinating match up strategically and from a coaching perspective.

I left a snarky comment in a different thread last night but just goes to show that every game is an independent variable where anybody can be beat by anybody

Michigan is still really good. They’ve still rolled other good teams by 20-30 points. Michigan also isn’t invincible. The crown at the end of the season is wide open for whichever elite team puts it all together in 2-3 months

Its a pretty fascinating match up against Michigan if it were to ever happen.

They have massive size in the front court, with Yaxel at 6 foot 9 240 as their 3. But he shoots a lot of 3s. And we have a lot of wings to defend that in Mullins, Stew, Ross. Reed on Mara and Karaban on Johnson.

They are a very deep team and shoot a lot of 3s, but we are also very deep and defend the 3 well. Our off ball screens will drive them crazy, as well as our slow pace to limit possessions and their running up and down the court.

They destroy a lot of teams because with their deep bench they pound you into submission with their up and down style. A great passing team that shoots the ball very well.

PS didnt shoot the ball well at all. But they had a few less turnovers and they had a lot of offensive rebounds.
