Lynx is not having a great start...a few misses and a turnover. Phoenix leads 6 - 1

McCarville out with 2 fouls early!
 
Moore to the basket, hammered by Griner will shoot two - and makes them

Interesting - Diana is 0 - 7 on 3 point attempts in this series (West/Final)

Bonner shooting free throws on a Wright foul committed on the last second of the shot clock. Not a great start for the Lynx. Now we have two fouls on Peters. Bigs in trouble for Lynx
Dupree shooting 2, score is now
12 - 3 5 minutes to go in the quarter

Whelan - NICE spin move to the basket for 2!! 12 - 5, time out
 
Moore misses three, and the Lynx turn it over after getting the rebound. The Phoenix defense is just stifling, and they are shifting on Maya every possession. The intensity of Phoenix is just amazing.

Maya gets another 2 on free throws, score is 14 - 7 with about a minute and a half to go in the quarter
 
Phillips with a three after Taurasi's 2 at the line, and the Lynx's shots going every which way but in. Whoda thunk? 19 - 7 with just over a minute to go

Finally........then they foul Diana for an an' 1 on the other end.....

I must say. When Bonner was in college, i don't recall hearing very much about her until the tail end of her senior year. She is terrific at this level as well.
 
Nice passing sequence to open the second quarter for 2 and then Maya with a steal and a layup, score is 22 - 13
 
Diana sat out the beginning of the quarter, is now in replacing Phillips. Whelan shooting 2 on Philips blocking call...

Diana misses another 3, Augustus gets a 2 and now the lead is only 7: 24 - 17 Phoenix.

I don't know why Griner didn't take the shot - she was doing an inside - outside thing with Diana a couple of times before Diana shot the ball. I wonder if they set the play up for her. McCarville was on Griner, she has 2 fouls, and BG can easily shoot over her.

Mo'Ne Davis interviewed by Holly. Maya is her favorite player. No other mention of UCONN, but was wearing a UCONN shirt and afterward Pam Ward reminded everyone of her desire to play for UCONN...

The Lynx has really stepped up their passing game, and the refs have stepped up calling and not calling fouls and travels....

whoa - Penny Taylor has to sit with three fouls. Phoenix has finally done some major subbing and they have gotten the lead back up to 9.

We are just over 2 minutes, and the score is 40 - 25 and I may have to shut things down. Gotta check the weather...
