Men's soccer 2017

Yale at UConn Halloween night. Halfway through the first half, Dylan Greenberg gets tripped up in the penalty box. Classic penalty kick call according to John Tuite. Abdou Mbacke Thiam converts on the ensuing penalty kick(!) to make it 1-0 UConn.

UConn wins 2-0, breaking the three game losing streak. However, Husky defender Dylan Greenberg hurt his knee late in the game, and is at this point questionable for the big game against at SMU on Saturday night.

Even with good news, we seem to have bad news with this year's team. Hopefully the fellas can put together a good late-season run...

Prediction for tonight's game:

SMU 3
UCONN 2

...in typical UCONN fashion.

SMU is No. 13 in the men's soccer rankings. A score like that would suggest that UConn can hang around with a ranked team. I'm not sure this team can. Even when they were winning games this season, this team was getting outplayed.

True. But UCONN hasn't lost by more than 1 goal all year. And when lots of goals are scored (more than 4), UCONN has lost every time.

UConn at SMU, no score at the half. SMU definitely getting the better of the play.

One annoying thing is that the SMU announcer on the video feed is getting a number of UConn names wrong.

SMU scores with about 12 minutes left in the game to take the lead.

What a crappy goal that was, also. Let's hope we can get it back in the closing moments, but we need 2...

Does anyone know the deal with Ray Reid's contract going forward? There was some talk on here about the team under performing and that the poor finish this year would place him squarely on the hot seat. I believe there was also an article in the Daily Campus recommending his ouster. Has there been any comment from the AD or info regarding his future status?

Thanks
