We have 1 unfilled scholly, 2 seniors, and AK and Liam are going pro. So That’s 5 open schollys for next year. However, we’ve only filled 12 schollys for the last couple years so let’s say that’s 4 open schollys.

I think staff wants 3 freshmen and 1 transfer but we’d also take 4 freshmen. How can we say no to any of these remaining targets? we fill any surprise openings next summer through the portal.
Doesn’t the roster expand to 15 next season anyways? We have room for all if they are okay without much PT. Wonder if Hurley will actually expand the roster.

We're not even using 13 scholarships now so I doubt we'll suddenly start using 15 next year when rosters expand
Scholarships 13 to 15 are basically practice players. No more room for walk-ons if you use those scholarships. Personally, I'd save the money. 13 to 15 on depth aren't playing.

Fwiw from Borges in his article about the Adams commitment. And you know he has good sources on this.

But the dominos are starting to fall. Adams is the first, and UConn could get commitments in the comings weeks from more than one of the following: guards Braylon Mullins, Acaden Lewis and Meleek Thomas (whom the Huskies are still recruiting, despite reports to the contrary), center Eric Reibe and power forward Niko Bundalo.

Not too still... :)

But yes, would be fun seeing 1...2 of them but really the 4 is my concern with AK being gone next year and no obvious replacement (Stewart? might also be gone...Singare? doubtful...portal or recruit for the 4 please)

Hopefully Bundalo sees and appreciates the path to minutes and playing time here.

Stewart, who I absolutely believe will be back, and Abraham are pretty solid "in-house" options. We want Bundalo. If we swing and miss there, I guarantee there will be a 4/5 portal option to bring in to provide depth.

Abraham can play the 4 and if he gets some minutes this year which we have no idea he will would help there.

He never actually makes it to his visits
I don't know any of the circumstances, but he's rescheduled 3 straight visits, between Arkansas and Alabama. He still has not visited anyone since us in June. His 3rd try with Arkansas is supposed to be this weekend.

6 overtime game begs to differ. Syracuse was down to using deep bench at the end and UCONN was almost as desperate.

Calling it now - he never plays college ball. Ron Holland 2.0. Arkansas to Kansas State as his last two visits, with KSt end of month just feels like a bag off. Let’s get two desperate programs going to see who is willing to drop the biggest.

The Bama skip last second wreaked of immaturity. Skipping visits or postponing visits like he has just gives the sense he’s not taking college seriously. I’m pretty surprised we’re still involved.

Skipping a visit to attend a renowned basketball camp is the complete opposite of immaturity

The same camp Reibe had visits built around, as did Bundalo. Neither committed to a visit this past weekend. It’s pretty thematic at this point. Either the dude has no understanding of what planning or a calendar is, or just doesn’t care.

Kids move visits around all the time, I wouldn't read too much into it. It's obvious at this point you're just looking for any reason to bash the kid, so you do you. I don't think any less of Darius Adams because he changed his UConn visit dates, and I don't think any less of Meleek Thomas for doing it either

In @RuffRuff defense. Meleek is terrible at handling his schedule. I don’t think it should be a referendum on his character. But let’s not act like his amount of rescheduling is normal. It’s not. But he’s young and he has a lot on his plate. He deserves some grace .

To be fair...it likely says more about the grown-ups running his recruitment

Sure, and if it was anyone else complaining about him I'd let it go. But he moves from one thing to another attacking Meleek and it gets old fast when he attacks his character over and over again. It's completely uncalled for
