Marquette Post Game Thread

1. Banked another week for Liam to recover and put a win on the ledger.
2. Huge dose of confidence for Ross and Stewart.
3. Nobody shit their pants when Hass and Mahaney were In Foul trouble.
4. Kara an hit a 3 pointer.

Marquette fans will have nightmares of this guy.

It's Saturday night and most of have had some libations. Ball just destroyed Marquette tonight in Milwaukee. So, is it Dual Ball since he dropped a pair, or is it Triple Ball for all those nothing but net 3's tonight?

Ray shot 44.5% from 3 his sophomore year (46.6% his junior year). That was on 85/191 volume. Ball is at 45.6% on 67/147 after tonight.

Wild.
It really is. It’s gotten to the point where if he gets a clean look, it feels like it’s going in. I did not think this was his profile coming out of HS.

Have to mention Ross. Man he makes almost every shot hard for the man he is guarding. Looking into his junior year we may see something NBA level with him. He clearly has all the tools.

He is learning, on that drive late in the game he saw the pass and started the ball rotation while he was driving into the lane.

Stewie is an off the bench microwave player IMO. With Liam back Hurley has options do we need offense It’s Stewart, do we need defense it’s Ross. The pieces are starting to fit.

It pretty exciting if we can maintain this level.
Ross was much better on defense tonight but I’d pump the brakes on the NBA talk. He’s still a non entity on offense

This team is going places ! Watch out as Gus said at end of game
Weird but your post made me think of the John Wick movie when the father of the son said John Wick is who you send when you want to kill the Boogeyman.

Turnovers ...

I vaguely remember Jim Calhoun, making a player carry a basketball around with him all day to classes - everywhere he went.

I mean seriously.

I do agree with the post about Stew being best suited for a “microwave” role. Doesn’t seem to be able to sustain extended concentration to run the fundamentals over the long stretch, like taking care of the basketball. 6 turnovers in 22 minutes can’t happen.

Shaka’s defensive game plan on AK was wild. Even when he set a screen and tried to flare out of it to the wing, they were grabbing a handful of jersey so he couldn’t disengage. Shaka is just made for the BE and the way this league calls games. Every MU game I watch, I understand why he didn’t make it at Texas. This style just doesn’t play nearly as well outside of the BE.
Definitely not built for the track meet that is the Big 12.

Seems to play pretty well in the NCAA Tournament :)

Whoever posted about Tyler Polley 21 second half points to beat Marquette with unconscious threes
must of had the right Mojo for Solo
who could we call on for St John’s

Here's my offering.
