The same dopes who whine about the Big East sucking root against the Big East in the tournament. They could win 2 or 3 more if they don't lose this one. $500k can certainly matter.

I don’t believe anyone who claims they are rooting for one team over another based on potential revenue. It’s nonsense to even play the revenue card. That was a reach lmao

Yup because that’s totally the same thing. We know you root for all BE teams. That doesn’t make you a “better fan”. I root for one team. Every other game I root for who I like more. I can’t stand Pitino and don’t like SJ. They’re also a way worse matchup for us. I rooted against Louisville in 2014 as well. The same dopes who whine about the Big East sucking root against the Big East in the tournament.
Not rooting for St John's to play us I get but not rooting for them to go to the sweet 16 is crazy. It's clearly they have beaten us, if Nova were playing right now everyone would be rooting for them. The same dopes who whine about the Big East sucking root against the Big East in the tournament.
This is a stretch. Our coach’s salary is nearly 20x that. More importantly, wouldn’t you want the team that’s the worst matchup for us knocked out of our region?
To answer the question: Roughly $180,000.St John’s winning or losing this game has no consequence on the current or future success of UConn basketball. Lmfao. 2 million split 11 ways is how much? Give me a break.
A UConn St. John's matchup in the elite 8 would be awesome for UConn and the Big East.Wait, you realize we could play against the winner of this game? And it’s literally affecting us this year as opposed to hypothetical money going to our athletic dept?
Well I’m rooting for whoever wins this game to beat Duke. So a St John’s V Duke game would not be fun.Not rooting for St John's to play us I get but not rooting for them to go to the sweet 16 is crazy. No everyone was hoping we’d see Louisville in the 2014 final 4. It’s so dishonest lolA team I hate who killed us last week and could kill us next week is a team I’m rooting against. Weird concept, I guess.

Thugs? So UConn would get about $200,000 if St. John's wins? Chump change. I'll continue to root against those thugs.
Duke would annihilate Kansas, well it's the tournament you play who you gotta play let's just win tonight.Well I’m rooting for whoever wins this game to beat Duke. So a St John’s V Duke game would not be fun.
Yea nope. I rooted for Nova to win their game. And would root for them in this instanceAbout 20% of this board is so invested in the failure of the Big East that they would rather the Big East fail than UConn succeed.
The same guy who told us all year how awful of a matchup SJ is for us suddenly wants us to have to beat them to get to the final 4. All for the BE. LolSo would UConn KU or UConn Duke. I just don’t care enough about revenue to the school to root for a team I hate, it’s not complicated. You disagree, that’s cool, I have no issue I just don’t get how anyone has an issue with our stance of rooting against a hated rival. I hate Pitino.
Let's get past UCLA first. We're going to end up meeting St. John's to go the F4. F ing NCAA. Doomed
Why are they thugs?Yes
The revenue is not what I care about but a few bucks is always nice. The perception would be awesome for the league. Two Big East teams battling for a chance at the final 4 and the committee having to put them in the same region to keep them both out of the final 4. It would be great for the league. I also would love playing St. John's on a neutral floor with tournament refs instead of facing Duke with tournament refs.So would UConn KU or UConn Duke. It's not used in isolation. If we have 800k allotted for a player (maybe a subpar starter), suddenly we have 1.3mil (a real player). Or it could be the difference in winning a bidding war for 2.5 mil vs. another team bidding 2 mil for a starting PF.Which would still not impact the current or future success of UConn basketball.
That’d pay for a bench player
