OT: Luke's Dad's best movie

First I was going to say Caddyshack, then Kingpin, but I have to go with Rushmore. I do love Stripes too.

His sixth best would be most actor's best.

Caddyshack, Stripes, Meatballs.

I love Bill Murray but he was the worst part of Caddyshack. That movie would've sucked if not for Ted Knight and Rodney.

Ted Knight was so damn good.

Dude, you can’t pick a best. They’re all awesome.

No love for Rushmore

Was that supposed to have been a question rather than a statement?

"Rushmore" was Murray's debut in a Wes Anderson movie

I'd tell you to have a Snickers, but maybe better advice would be that those aren't Baby Ruths you've been snacking on.

At least consider that the thread's Title was "Luke's Dad's Best Movie."

From reviewing the answers in this thread, you could have argued, "'Caddyshack' was so good that it showed as the most-favored choice, even though Bill Murray was the worst part of the movie."

I guess Judge Smails made quite an impression on you.

Definitely a fan of his early stuff - Stripes, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack.

Can't stand any of the stuff he did with Wes Anderson. I'd rather push a pencil up my nose than watch those films.

Moonrise Kingdom.

All the Wes Anderson's are good - Rushmore, especially.

Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation, Ghostbusters, all good.

That's because you're a simpleton.

Best movie he's in: Ghostbusters (Caddyshack second--agree with SJ; apart from Gunga Galunga he doesn't give one of the standout performances)

Best "Bill Murray" movie: Groundhog Day (he carries it)

One movie I haven't seen mentioned is Broken Flowers. Great soundtrack and he's excellent in it. And Luke's brother Homer has a short cameo at the end. But that ranks about 30th on the list--that's how good his ouevre is.

Sounds like more than expressing a simple preference for pencil-pushing, but still has me wondering ...

Sharpened?
Eraser end first?

Interesting reveal.

Stripes, Caddyshack, and Ghostbusters were all pillars of my youth. Love 'Bob and Groundhog Day, too.
