Luke Murray and BC?

Going forward I’d imagine they’ll all be getting a lot in revenue sharing. Still a lot in NIL too?
They can't get either if they are on the most common type of Visa. The Rev Share is even more clear than NIL. I think you'll see them applying for different visas than other students.

Distinction without a difference for me. I know it's 2 different things but either way they're getting money for playing basketball at UConn so I was just using it interchangeably

One thing worth watching (yes I'm injecting some drama), will be to see if there is anyone on this roster Luke takes with him. I'm not sure where it would start or end, but I could see a nice thank you parting gift to Luke would be letting him start his program with kids that know how to set the culture, and to build the first year or two of the program around. Whether that be anyone on the very back end of roster, or perhaps someone that wants guaranteed starting minutes. Perhaps a win win.

Which visas can you take money and which can’t you? One of my son’s best friends from college is from China. I'm assuming he was here on a student visa but I don't know for sure. He worked during a couple of the summers here and got paid.

Might want to check out The Herd interview with Colin and Brad U in the last day or two. Stumbled on it yesterday and they talk about Illini International recruiting-among other things.. Orlando A and other assistants are over there every 6 weeks or so working their recruiting relationships per Underwood. Even during the season. Good listen if interested.
I saw that on the The Herd on Tuesday. That surprised me. Being over in the Balkans every 6 weeks is a lot of work, especially during the season.

A little too much love for UConn I think but well said
He knows that even if he does everything right there's a strong likelyhood that (because it's BC) he'll still fail.

He doesn't want to burn any bridges.

Hurley is not gifting players to BC I don’t care if Andrew Hurley is coaching them.

I don't think he's gifting them, but if there is something not working at Uconn and they are likely to leave anyway, can be steered or freed to walk with Luke. I believe Murray said as much during his presser - that he's talking to a couple players, pretty openly.

How awesome is it that BC hires a new coach and most of the conversation is about UConn. BC fans must love it. Talking about UConn potentially winning another natty at their intro press conference. No dream job nonsense.
I’m starting get some feedback from my BC family members that they are less enthusiastic than we are about Luke’s hiring. They are still pissed about Skinner and the lack of control of his team and some questionable characters he recruited.

That's BC fan for you. No clue what's good.

Luke will take nobody with him that Hurley wants to keep. There may be some marginal players who won't get much PT at UConn next year, looking for opportunity at BC, but they won't be significant losses to UConn.

I think you are way off with your first sentence. What person goes into a job, any job, with the mindset "I'm going to fail"? You are right - never burn your bridges

They tried to get Murphy in 2023, but they didn't have an open assistant spot and Alabama did.
