Luke Murray and BC?

I’m not sure I get your point.

Gampel is 25 miles from People’s Bank. And Storrs doesn’t feel like a city.
My point is Seton Hall does not have a big NIL budget and is a second or third rung school. Stop acting like it is some great basketball power school.

If he wins, he'll have his pick of good high-major jobs. If he loses, people will (rightfully) say that no one can win there, and he'll get another opportunity elsewhere down the line.

I'm happy for him. He was good to us for a long time. I'd love to see him and Hurley play against each other.

Kimani in for long haul for when Dan Hurley retires sooner rather than later

I really hope not. We’ve done the “hire a top assistant with no head coaching experience” thing. Next coach needs to have succeeded as a head coach. Don’t make that mistake again.

Edit: I love Kimani and am sure he’d be great. But we’re too big of a program to take the chance. Go for a known commodity.

Jim Calhoun was offered the Northwestern job when he was Head Coach at Northeastern. He talked to his friend Booby Knight. Knight advised his against taking the job at the long time B10 laggard. The best rule of thumb is to look at each position individually and not follow rules of thumb.
knight told him not to take a directional star job. Which is hilarious because he was already at a directional school.

But he was right. Very little fan support.

Best of luck to him, but I think this is the wrong job. I don't believe BC is committed to athletics. $6 million in NIL when schools in the ACC are spending $10-12 million isn't getting it done. I also don't like him recruiting in our backyard.
He won't be pulling the same caliber of player.

And I tend to think he's smarter than anyone here on selecting the right job for himself - wish him and Bill the best.

Big congrats to Coach Murray!! Hopefully he got a lot of promises from the school because that’s a tough place to be a winner. All the faith in the world in him to handle the Xs and Os

But uhhhh what does that mean for us? Selfishly hoping he’s 100% locked in on the tournament right now and not getting a head start on BC recruiting. Although that would be a poor decision on his part

Comparing KO's 2 years as an assistant to Kimani's 15 years is just dumb.

Know it may sound crazy, but we need to be going all in on Cam Spencer here. One, he’s a high IQ guy with elite competitiveness and could replace Murray’s offensive mind. Two, he and Hurley are cut from the same cloth - could be a natural successor in 10 years. Three, he won’t last much longer in the NBA, might as well get a good gig now while his stock is high.

Apologize if already discussed.

What defines success at BC in your opinion?

They finish 17th this year. Have overall 44% winning percentage (34% in ACC play) over the last 5 years.

I’d say having a winning record in league play 3 out of the next 5 seasons. Also, hopefully making the tournament once in the next 5 years.

Thoughts?

I wish him luck. It’s been a long time since BC was good. So I’ll be curious to see how it goes.

I’d imagine he’s finishing out the season here. BC can wait 11 days. If not then Tom Moore can slide over. He has lots of experience and was in Luke’s chair not that long ago.

Nooooooooooooooooooo! This is terrible. The only school I hate more than Duke is BC for blackballing us. and he’s taking Bill with him to boot. How could he not get a better job why couldnt PC or Butler hire him!!
We don’t hate Duke. We strive to be as good as Duke. Maybe you are jealous of Duke but hate is the wrong word.

It sucks that they can’t push all this offseason crap off 2 weeks rather than hiring coaches who are still coaching. Hopefully won’t impact our team
