Just wow. Amazing ascent. Love this kid. Loved him when he handed us our asses and thought he had pro potential, but not those garish numbers.
Don't like him at all
You forgot the 7 turnovers. That's 52 in his last 8 games. He is high risk high reward. Shabazz has 73 in 26 games and people complain.Just wow. Amazing ascent. Love this kid. Loved him when he handed us our asses and thought he had pro potential, but not those garish numbers.
At least this gives some context to your clueless comments in the ESPN thread about the racial slur.Don't like him at all
Why not?
Lin's come from trying to make the extra pass or a pass in general or penetrating. Bazz's come from dribbling off his foot 30 feet from the basket. You forgot the 7 turnovers. That's 52 in his last 8 games. He is high risk high reward. Shabazz has 73 in 26 games and people complain.

In 45 minutes, against one of the better defensive teams in the NBA.You forgot the 7 turnovers.

I'm not sure, part of it is the way the media drools over him (not fair, but still) and part of it is his reaction after he makes a shot. Not really feelin the whole head nod thing. You probably are saying, "Wow, that's a tty reason not to like him". That's probably true, but I am not always a rational person. The human dynamic is an interesting one. Subltle gestures and reactions can often times rub people the wrong way, and unconsciously, my brain has decided not to like him.
I can understand not liking the head nodding and tongue wagging though. Not a huge fan of when Kemba did his thing either. At the same time, I blame neither for it. They both earned it by just being that good. If they start doing stuff like that at a silly time (up/down 20 with 10 seconds to go) that's one thing, but in a close game where you just made a huge play. It's fine.
That's why I said they must not be watching. If you only see the highlights, of course you're going to see the huge plays, and the guy has had a ton of them in a short time. The vast majority of the time he just runs back down court, but on a few occasions when it would be any human's natural reaction, he shows some genuine emotion. Just by way of example, J.R. Smith scored his first basket ever as a Knick and he flys down the court like a jet plane. Lin is not that type of guy. He is having fun and doing well, after an amazingly hard road to get there. I have never seen a story like this in the NBA. If anyone else has, I'd love to hear it.
I agree. His cockiness anoys me. Also I think the fact that he gets all the "Jordan calls" after only a few games is annoying. Also the media (other than Walt Frazier on MSG) never points out anything negative he does (It's like watching a Duke game) . I had to laugh when Hubie Brown said "New York loves the underdogs". Isn't this the city that booed the Giants for drafting Phil Simms and the fans of thier teams are always talking about signing the biggest superstars out there.

Jeremy Lin set the Knicks record for turnovers in a half with 8 the other night. He also is the first NBA player to have six or more turnovers in six straight games. He is rewriting the record books.
