Lexi transferring

Lexi always had a great attitude but unfortunately she seemed to be plagued by one injury after another, never allowing her to compete for PT. Wherever she ends up, she really needs to work on her fitness level in order to contribute.

Sorry to see her go but makes a lot of sense. as a top 30 player to be the last of the bench with limited prospects of more playing time In the future, it was probably the right decision for her. It does leave UConn with a very short roster for training (as in games Geno uses only 6 or 7 as it is)

.-.
I hope she succeeds in her new school. Can some one confirm is she will have 3 years of eligibility left ? Or does she lose 1/2 the year ?

I remember watching her play at Houston last year (a game I saw her person), and I think it was the most I had seen her play (granted, I don't always watch the garbage time). Her effort was there, but not all else was.

Such a shame. I was hoping she'd get more time once we got into conference play. I remember that class was calling itself the fab four or something like that, and now only half remains.

I think that would be a great spot for her....they're losing four seniors including two guards and a wing..looks like they may have only one 2019 commit..
One blurb says that Lexi had considered Texas, Baylor, and TCU before choosing UConn. I think playing time would be hard to come by at Baylor or Texas, but she could be a real contribute at TCU. Or SMU.

yes SMU would be cool............she could see her buddies every year..........

Wish to hear someone will transfer to UConn (either under or graduate players) soon ...
I suspect we won't hear much till after the season is over - but I don't recall when grad transfers and JUCO transfers can start to announce where they are headed...

wouldn't count on that at this time of the year..................somebody (hopefully not me) needs to start doing some research on what good players would be available for graduate transfers next season..............

I just checked Lexi’s stats for the season: 4 games, 2.5 mpg, 0-5 (all 3’s), 1-2 FT, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 steal. Somehow, that’s depressing to me. I hope she ends up somewhere where she can have more of an impact.

I'm actually happy for her...............I never liked watching her sitting there cheering on everybody else and always being the last off the bench.........

I think it's best if you retract that last comment-we don't want the NCAA infractions committee accusing UCONN of tampering with current players. As huge booster of UCONN Women's basketball, you could get the program in trouble...

If Lexi starts playing next December then the 2020-2021 season will be her last, right? She's played in 4 games this season so she's used up this year of eligibility unless she applies for a redshirt. Maybe that explains the timing (now vs over holiday break). Maybe she wants to set it up so she plays with her sister (c/o 2020) for more than one season.

How many players did UConn have during Stewie's career when Geno had to have a walk-on tryout and both Tierney and Bri Pulido made the team? Let's be honest, we need walk-ons to guarantee a title as I think the last 4 out of 5 NC Champs have had walk-on's on the roster...

That's two of four from one class in one year. More room for recruits though. Best of luck, well wishes, and prosperity wherever she lands!

NO, incorrect. Next December would be then second half of her 2nd year of eligibility. She could play in 20-21

I am editing this to include an add-on to @DeeHusky comments- as I noted in the recruiting thread when analyzing the large recruiting classes of 3,4 and 5 kids, a school will always have kids transfer out and usually more than 1 for classes of 4/5. The only exception has been Stanford and Duke to a lesser extent.

As @Charliebball noted, Batouly will graduate and it's no guarantee that she will come back. I hope so as it seems there would be plenty of playing opportunities for her but she would have to find a graduate program she would want.

I'm a wee bit sad about that, but UConn is just too tough a place to compete in. Best of luck to her! We're recruiting her younger sister if I'm not mistaken, I'm sure Vic will take a look at older sis too.

Yup....I'm not saying nuthin....other then if BC doesn't return it's only eight.
Good time right now to not speak too loudly. After reading the "hype" a s she was recruited and the comments then about how good it was for Uconn. Then to see her sit for a Year and a bit--really sad, just sad.
