So so glad Castle went to San Antonio, and not at all surprised by his quick adjustment to the NBA there. A solid organization with a great coach, and a team I’m not uncomfortable rooting for. Plus they have enough talent on the floor so he’s not overloaded with responsibility too soon.
(It also makes me wonder if/how Bouk’s career trajectory might’ve been different if he had gone there instead of Charlotte…)

His ability to finish around the basket always seemed to be at another level. If he drove, the ball was going in.
Yeah I noticed that, too. That's why REB1094's post above makes so much sense. If Castle can keep his defenders and the defense honest with his 3 pt shooting, the ceiling will be very high for his career.

I didn’t see a replay during the game, but he hit someone with a beautiful long bounce pass for an assist on the break last night.

There’s been two guys that spoiled us with just automatic offense in the paint that I can remember. They are Sanogo and Castle. Just absolute money around the rim. It was so good for my nerves having those guys on the roster
Okafor and Gordon spoiled us pretty good too.

I've got Stephon on my fantasy team (we are required to draft and play a rookie in our active roster). Best rookie I've drafted in a while (maybe since Dame).

Will people here now like LeBron?
That’s usually how it works. Remember when ppl despised Bilas and Gottlieb until they praised JC then this place waxed poetic about how honest and “real” they were. Until they criticized UConn again and then they reverted back to being hacks.

Well, he's got some people working hard to make him look good. Maybe gotta ask Steph.

It’s so entertaining and odd.

My theory is that many if not most people will never forgive him for “The Decision” — the way he rolled it out and the decision itself to join his banana boat buddies rather than shoulder the load himself.

Personally, he won me over when he went back to Cleveland and did just that: put the team on his back and win a title. I think he’s also matured a lot over the years. For as much as he’s in the spotlight, he operates with class.

You don’t have to like him, but if you can’t recognize that what he’s doing at 40 in a league based on athleticism is so far beyond what we’ve ever seen from any other athlete, then you’re a hater.

I don’t root for LeBron. (Probably vs the Warriors was the only times I ever have.) But I respect the heck out of him.

I get the decision thing. He was so young and it was definitely not a great thing to do. But its been almost 15 years. I genuinely think the bigger issue people have is him challenging the throne of the God of their childhood/younger years. As you said, for as long as he’s been in the spotlight, for him to have such a clean resume is something that really should be lauded.

The crazy thing is that Lebron was 2 years older than Cam Spencer was when he was playing for UConn in the final four when The Decision happened. But I don’t think it’s The Decision that explains it. Either way, I think the Lebron hate is sort of goofy and weird - there are a litany of pro athletes that probably should be disliked that aren’t - but that’s the internet for you.

My favorite Lebron take is that he couldn’t have hacked it in the rough and tumble 80s.

And by the way, the roster he dragged to the NBA finals in his fourth season as a 22 year old was absolute dogisht.
