As much as OKC needs to keep Durant happy to resign him, the best way to do that is to WIN. That means hiring the best NBA coach, not Durant's coaching choice which would also complicate the power dynamic (who is in control? Westbrook or Durant or Head Coach or GM).

I don't know who the best coach for that team is, simply saying that picking someone with a goal of just making Durant happy with the choice is not optimal.
