She enters the game in Q1 at 5:16. One minute later (4:12), she hits a 3. One minute later (3:17), she steals the ball for a driving layup. One minute later (2:27), she repeats her thievery and layup.

The vice is already hinted at. She vandalizes the Bulldogs with nonstop thievery, larceny, burglary, looting, piracy and other heists. On top of that, she commits break-ins, player imprisonments, malicious prosecutions, and all sorts of public mischief and mayhem.

No one had a bad game. The usual suspects had their usual game, which is to say maybe the best in the nation. Blanca is the next UConn superstar.

The player I am most happy about and gets my BA award is Yanna. If UConn can get her completely spooled up, between her and Blanca and the rest of the bench, wow. Just wow.

Normally, I would give it to Blanca because she changed the game and jumpstarted the first half avalanche, but Ayanna ending the half with a tough 3 point play (love the cheers and her smile after that play) and the effort o-board that led to Blanca’s buzzer beater was a truly badass way to play in front of your home crowd.

Uconn showed a little rust at the start of the game, didn't play badly just were a second slow on defense and on offense. Blanca and K9 came in and immediately things clicked - the offense took off helped but a blanketing defense that shut down Butler for the rest of the half. Butler first missed at 6:18 and they led 10-6 (first time Uconn has been trailing by 4 in the season?) off of three easy lay-ups and an open three. Butler didn't score again in the first quarter, and to start the second quarter until two FT at 7:11 by which time they trailed 10-33. They didn't score again until they made their first field goal at 3:13 of Q2 - 13:43 minutes of game time after their last basket at 6:56 of Q1 at which point the lead had ballooned to 33 pts. Everyone who played helped with that, but the spark came with K9 and Blanca.

So ... my BA goes to Blanca with a second to our PG combo of KK and K9 who both played very well.
