Kibitzer Memorial Badass Award

Serah Williams is my choice... even she only played 17 mins.
 
I'm going with Allie. This is probably the best I've seen her play.

Even though honorable mentions are technically not allowed… Honorable mention to Kayleigh. She's going to be very good.

It's easy to give the badass just to whoever scored the most. But Badass is really more for someone who changed the game, took the wind out of the other team's sail, was really physical taking it to the other team, etc.

For me it would have to be between KK for her steals or Blanca for her overall defense - blocks, steals, harassing, and overall defensive play. I guess I'd go with Blanca.

Not a bad stat line for ALLIE: 15 minutes with 13 points... 5/10 shooting
with 2/6 from beyond the arc. Third highest scorer on the team:
Azzi with 21 points in 24 minutes and Serah Williams with 14 points in
17 minutes. Nice efforts by all 3.
 
KK with 6 steals in 16 Minutes. Honorable Mentions to K9 with 4 steals in 15 Minutes and Azzi with 5 steals in 24 Minutes.

I think the press and defense stood out in this game, and KK was particularly a terror. 32 Turnovers with 26 steals is pretty badass!

She better disrupt if she is going to get 6 TO's in the amount of time she played. Yes, she is an athlete as so many posters have written, but she is not a teamfirst player yet, although I think Geno and staff will get her there w/in a few months. It seems that a lot of her TO's are due to wanting to shoot when the better decision is to pass. I blame that on her time as a pro in Italy.
However, there has been a lot of discussion on her replacing Ash in the starting lineup. Personally. I don't see that happening, unless we run up against a team with a tall frontline. Ash does everything for you including rebounding like she is 6'2". She now defends at the same level as Azzi, just a tad below KK and is very close to being an Azzi-lite 3 pt. shooter, besides being a mistake free player as Geno noted 2 years ago when she was a FR.. And she knows the UCONN system for both Off and Def.

I see Blanco as the Big East 6th player of the year-not bad for a player new to UCONN and American NCAA basketball.

Allie is my BA. Does she need more confidence? Come on we all do. What Allie could benefit from is a few more minutes. That would help with her confidence. Never seen Allie play better. If she's not the 2-second best 3-point shooter on the team, she's certainly in the top 4.

She is a sharp shooter for sure, but is also showing signs of more than just spotting up.

A lot of players could use more confidence, agreed, but in life in general... I've met way too many people who are lot more confident than they really should be... ha, ha.
 
No offense to those above or this page of the forum. I have to believe the KMBA was not meant to be awarded in a beat down of a practice team / game.
Totally over matched I have to believe Kib would have passed on this one. Thus taking the high road. MHRIP.............
 
I say Allie.. I would.looove to see her coming off the bench and being that player that would drain 3 3pointers in under 2 mins.. She has the goods.. Getting and and 1 on a drive play. Transition 3 point shot.. My expectations have risen quite a bit for Allie this season.

When we give the main scorers like Azzi, Sarah, and Serah a rest, Geno has always needed to know how we will score points. I think the best people who could fill that role would be Allie, Blanca, and Kayleigh. I think that will be our first 8 for now. Jana and Ice will be in the mix. I think without injuries we will win the national championship and may go undefeated. We are that good.

Even if there's not much on the line for the team or the central stars in this game, there's a lot on the line for the rest of them. They feel the pressure of the moment.

No attack but I wonder why one would expect anyone to be here every day? A diehard UConn fan for over 50 decades I can't possibly be here every day. I have my view and you have yours and I respect that. I consistently see replies come in three and four days that turn into multiple pages of comments.
I stand by my opinion and comment as a fan that have followed the UConn women from the time you could see them for free.
This back in the day as the openers for the UConn men as long as you had a ticket for the men.
Not sure how to address your dislike for me. Not the first time, PM if we could clear it up.
