I suppose it's possible. I'm inclined not to think so though. It was just so stunningly shortsighted by them. Of course that may have been influenced by the fact that they were in the midst of a 27 game losing streak against us.We might have done the same thing if the roles were reversed. I certainly would have reveled in denying them access to the club.
You don't think the lure of being New England's team (if there is such a thing) might have swayed us? I would not have stopped the Canadian fruit, but the smugness of BCU would have 100% been blocked by me. Probably a good thing I have no say in the matter.I suppose it's possible. No, only an idiot would think that you could claim a crown by not playing anyone else. I guess if Boston College had its way it would disinvite every other team from March madness and then say it was America's team! You don't think the lure of being New England's team (if there is such a thing) might have swayed us? Well yes...No, only an idiot would think that you could claim a crown by not playing anyone else. I guess if Boston College had its way it would disinvite every other team from March madness and then say it was America's team!![]()
I don't think so. I preferred the old Big East and its members more than the ACC. At that time the old ACC and Big East full members should have just merged. UConn, Cincy, WVU, Rutgers, USF, Temple all would have been better off and I certainly would have wanted cuse, miami, va tech, loserville, heck even bcu in the group. The conference would have been much more balance rather than just VA/NC focused. Back then we hadn't been dealing with 20 year of CR and annual kicks in the balls. We might have done the same thing if the roles were reversed. I certainly would have reveled in denying them access to the club.
Practically: UConn is also a difficult partner to be in a league with From a historical perspectice.
There was a lot of animosity on the way up that UConn generated back in the day.
They said, the DNA thing Fishy says is real. The ACC hates Northeast football, hates UConn becoming a dominant hoops program in both sports, and doesn't like the fanbase.
No, Fishy was being dismissive with more than a dash of parochial hubris.
I've driven across the breadth Kansas enough times to know that I wouldn't want to live there, but what comparison, exactly, would drawing a circle with a radius of 150 to 200 miles around Storrs reveal? Fewer sunflowers, for sure, but also more Norway rats. Draw your circle instead around Boulder, Colorado.
The B12 has a huge wingspan and encompasses diverse environments, some urban, some quite remote and sparsely settled, and some truly spectacular. Let's be honest, Fishy and many of the rest of you would jump at any chance to be a part of it.
40 million people?but what comparison, exactly, would drawing a circle with a radius of 150 to 200 miles around Storrs reveal?
82, You should also include median income & fortune 500 companies.
There you go again, resorting to ad hominem attacks rather than framing a cogent argument. As always, logos, pathos, ethos. You were being pedantic idiot thinking that you were making a grand point by pointing out that there is no corn outside the windows of the UCF or Houston president.
But there is plenty of corn to be found in the conference, even if a blithering oaf like you is the one looking for it.
As an aside, why are you even here?
Not really, ad hominem attacks are fallacious and that's not the case here. There you go again, resorting to ad hominem attacks rather than framing a cogent argument.
Always entertaining watching grown men challenge each other around which Latin they can insert into a post to make themselves sound smarter. The grammar maffia here is one of a kind. Not really, ad hominem attacks are fallacious and that's not the case here.
Maffia shouldn't be capitalized.Always entertaining watching grown men challenge each other around which Latin they can insert into a post to make themselves sound smarter. The grammar Maffia here is one of a kind.
Total pro 'yarders.
And mafia only has one "f."Maffia shouldn't be capitalized.![]()
I thought the same thing, but they chose the less common but still correct variant of the spelling, probably to sound smarter. And mafia only has one "f."
I stand correctedI thought the same thing, but they chose the less common but still correct variant of the spelling, probably to sound smarter.
Thank you Google for this.
The words "maffia" and "mafia" are essentially the same, both referring to organized criminal organizations, but "mafia" is the more common and widely used term, while "maffia" is a variant spelling, often used in a historical or specific context.
You’ve clearly watched Goodfellas at least 10xAnd mafia only has one "f."
It also has only one f.Maffia shouldn't be capitalized.![]()
Yup. I had that in my original and edited it because I doubted myself. Looks like it depends on which maf(f)ia you are talking about, but one f should be the standard! Always go with your first answer. It also has only one f.
