Oh, they would do it, if they thought it was in their interest. Still, I don't see them not exercising the option, because it is a lot of relatively inexpensive content.

Let's say for a second, they do pull the trigger, then, in order to make the math work, they would have to pay the "ACC leftover league" next to nothing. Perhaps less than 20 million per team per year? Would it be in Connecticut's best interest to join the leftover league and get, say $18, million per year? Probably, but joining that conference wouldn't ill innate the core problem of the ever escalating cost of college athletics funded by the inordinate amount of media money that the P2 receives.

I mean sure but it realistically could look like that. And is USF any better than Memphis? And do we really want to travel to the West Coast for basketball 5-6 times a year during conference play? The travel in the AAC killed us.

If Duke, Pitt, Louisville, Syracuse and BC are the core leftovers then you can make it work and it would be a fun conference. If even one of the first four aren't available then it falls off real quick.

The football and playoff/invitational is going to be awful.

So much money breeds corruption and the only reason for a committee is to deflect blame from any one individual, yet backslap and take credit when it goes smooth. The old bowl system would work better at this point.

Personally I don't think I've intentionally sat down to watch a non-UConn game, beginning to end, in the last 4 years.

Make the model the top 2 G5 teams country fill the rest out according to the "BCS" formula or simply the AP poll.

Even if your conference has a bad year, you get guaranteed slots. AND perhaps more importantly you limit the ability of G5 teams to break in, even in their best of years.
