Oh, they would do it, if they thought it was in their interest. Still, I don't see them not exercising the option, because it is a lot of relatively inexpensive content.Don't think they wouldn't. They already did it to the Big East.
Let's say for a second, they do pull the trigger, then, in order to make the math work, they would have to pay the "ACC leftover league" next to nothing. Perhaps less than 20 million per team per year? Would it be in Connecticut's best interest to join the leftover league and get, say $18, million per year? Probably, but joining that conference wouldn't ill innate the core problem of the ever escalating cost of college athletics funded by the inordinate amount of media money that the P2 receives.
