Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

The college presidents, who are not businessmen, have absolutely destroyed college athletics.

The football and playoff/invitational is going to be awful.

The obsession wit having. A college football tournament is dumb. The games aren’t gonna be competitive.

14 is to many teams.
Notre Dame is given too much deference
"G5," too little

So much money breeds corruption and the only reason for a committee is to deflect blame from any one individual, yet backslap and take credit when it goes smooth. The old bowl system would work better at this point.

Personally I don't think I've intentionally sat down to watch a non-UConn game, beginning to end, in the last 4 years.

Make the model the top 2 G5 teams country fill the rest out according to the "BCS" formula or simply the AP poll.

Presidents make the decisions. The board makes the decisions. The ADs have a lot of lee way as senior managers, but this is a CEO level decision in many cases.

And, they are ill informed
Supposedly, the Big 10 Presidents wanted to add Stanford and Cal, but Fox said no.

the only reason I can see for so many autobids is they still plan on relying on a human committee rather than a mathematical formula.

Uh no. The reason is always $$$.

Even if your conference has a bad year, you get guaranteed slots. AND perhaps more importantly you limit the ability of G5 teams to break in, even in their best of years.

This year it would been
1 2 7 from BiG - Mich wash ohst
3 4 6 from SEC - Tex Al Ga
5 15 from ACC - FSU Lou
14 20 from B12 - Ariz OkSt
19 G5 —OreSt
8 9 10 AtLarge — Ore Mo PSU

I remember watching him on a studio show after the Patriots got blasted (I believe by the Chiefs) when he gleefully said something to the effect "we just saw the end of Tom Brady". Brady went on the win the Superbowl that season and play in two more.

I think this is all clearly inevitable, but not going to put stock in a Dilfer prediction.

Nope, either get into a league or we eventually drop football altogether, Independence is a complete disaster.
What league though, any old league that plays football or are you talking P4,(B1G, SEC, Big 12, ACC)?

Am I the only one who absolutely loves to see the ACC and B12 get screwed royally?
Be careful about where you find enjoyment.

At the moment it appears to be only impacting football but in time it will spread. One major reason there has been discussion on expanding the tournament is because the P-2 will expect 60+% of their conference to make the dance every year, even after each exceeds 20 members. A large part of their plan is to marginalize the other conferences (included the other members of the current P-6).

With the additional revenues, they'll be able to slowly build separation in men's hoops as well. Alabama anbd Auburn were never basketball powers yet they past few years each has fielded teams that spent time in the top five and have been as talented as the top few schools in the country. Give members of the B1G and SEC a decade or so with the obscene projected revenue gap and it will be far easier for them to build solid programs while many top schools outside the P-2 slowly shrink their budgets.
